The whole clone discussion reminds me of a book (whose title I unfortunately forget) I came across in high school with the premise being that a kid creates clones of himself to do things he doesn't want to e.g. go to school, do chores, and that the clones eventually try to "replace" him to claim his identity (part of the premise being that his family, friends, etc. dont know that he is cloning himself)
