It's kind of the opposite. Luke is unranked and a win over Costa gets him a title shot or close. Meanwhile, a win for Costa doesn't really do him much good. If he beats Luke, people will say that Luke's time has gone. Same thing if he wins but doesn't get a KO. Of course, Luke has to beat Costa to benefit, BUT Costa is the #6 guy. If Luke can't beat him, his chances at another title run are dead anyway. All in all, it's a great deal for Luke, not for Costa.

I 100% agree and although he can use his wrestling to grind out costa vettori couldn't even do that and his cardio levels are top tier compared to luke who we have seen slow down in 2 rds, in a fight now it will be much worse he was in his prime when we saw this now he is 37 and hasn't been through adversity in 3 yrs costa had a hard fight last time he was out which was barely over 6 months ago so luke was wrong when he said costa hadn't been through adversity, he somehow survived till the last bell although you can see he gassed out after 2 rds, I think right now costa has too much for luke and this is a bad fight for him but fighters main issue is letting their pride, ego etc get in the way That's why DC said its a pride thing when he asked why he couldn't lose to him and DC knows exactly what that means, I am sure he rooting for luke but deep down he knows this is the worst thing he could do and luke winning would be a shock to him since he probably going to get folded in half. Vettori couldn't take costa down like that and he is a big strong guy himself, luke chose the worst match up for himself costa is a weight bully and is basically a small heavyweight on fight night, going to be too big and strong for luke to drag down, if he can get him down that is good for luke as he can win that way but I think costa going to be able to defend the takedown attempts enough to get separation and land the fight ending shot
