When I saw my first android in a store in 2010, it was $450. I asked the dude, what is the point in buying this which is like at least 200 more than a symbian touch phone. He said you can install software. What he meant was gmail, fruit slash etc. But it boomed.

Ngl the first android turning on is actually quicker than my current phone. Edit:I tested it to see how long it took. IT TOOK ONE MINUTE AND THIRTY-FIVE SECONDS TO TURN ON! Update 11/26/21: I got a new phone two months ago and it is so much faster and turns on in like 30 seconds or less. The phone also fried its insides cause it would start up and then immediately shut off and then turn itself back on and repeat.

Imagine being in a emergency and you have to wait for your phone to do that. Like you could stand up, arrest a person, make a 5-star meal, drive to the hospital and the phone still be loading. But now if it's over 3 seconds and it haven't turn on, we would had a heart attack.

The phones are going from completely off to on. Normally, a phone is just in sleep mode. That’s why it doesn’t need to load the entire OS to turn on.

I'll tell you a secret: the fact that the phone turns on faster does not mean that it is better. You need a full, 20 minute comparison. And I can also turn on 2 phones and take them off.

is this running their original OS versions? if they are running the latest supported then its not comparable at all, as android grew in features way faster thon iOS did, meaning old phones like these would be extremely bogged down

@@fahmidsadat1443 all major manufacturers provide at least 1 year of software update for their low end devices and 2 years for their high end devices. But manufacturers like samsung, OnePlus,google provide software update for 3 years. Samsung gives security patch for one more year. Also in xiaomi and pocophones, we can install custom roms and it is really not that hard and the company even provides their own official app to do that.

I remember the g1! Loved how the screen shifted and revealed the full QWERTY keyboard underneath. Miss that phone

I use to want that G1 bad as hell when it was launching. Got it in my hands and played around with the settings n features. Novelty at best...however I do miss a few buttons

even back then Apple just did these kind of things right. i LOVE android for its features and customizability etc but whenever i’ve used androids in the past i’ve just had this feeling with certain things that “apple just does this better”.

I mean Android back then wasn’t a touch screen OS. After times, Google modified it and forced it to become a touch screen OS.
