Like many other poeple I also thought "why didn't they use Killer Frost" at first but then I suddenly had a realization. With the way the game is desgined fundementally, it would make no sense for Killer Frost to be in it. The game revolves around collecting, upgrading and constantly using different types of guns. Why the fuck would killer frost ever use a gun over using her ice powers? She wouldn't, she wouldn't even think to. This creates a major problem for the game because any cool or interesting villian characters they choose to intergrate into the game, can't primarily fight with the superpowers they are associated with. They'll have to pick characters who have interesting abilitys or skills but would end up choosing a gun to fight with most times. Which is just so fucking lame. Imagine clayface running around and instead of smashing poeple with shapeshifting he's using a shotgun. Choosing to make this game a looter shooter has heavily limited them with the kinds of characters they can choose from.

Once you realize they are making these decisions out of spite, everything starts to make more sense

For anybody that played the game I think it’s very clear that they are not interested in upholding the “classic iterations” of any character. It may not be your cup of tea but from what I can tell the intention IS to choose things like this instead of what’s already been around forever, still not the strongest game but I found it fun enough with a goofy turn your brain off kind of story. Would only recommend it on sale though and a good sale at that!

Killer Frost would have been a much better choice, but the Batman obsession just kills any possibility of us getting any interesting characters, apparently. Honestly, Nora would have even been a way better choice. If they really wanted to lean into the multiverse thing and they really wanted to do Mrs. Freeze that badly, it should have been Nora instead of just an alt universe genderswapped Victor. Give us a cool take on a universe where Victor is the one who was sick and Nora became Freeze. Explore how that could have changed the dynamic and how different she is from her husband as Freeze. Maybe she's not villainous? Maybe she's even worse than Victor? Who knows, theres so many directions that story could go in since Nora usually just a fridged wife, so she's a blank canvas to get creative with.

In their defense genderbent, versions of character x are always a thing. However, if youre gonna do it i think she should have a more unique gimmic. Like you could get weird and make her a wizard.

Also doesnt help she looks nothing like she normally does. I would accept an evil pretty Elsa lady with ice powers but maybe make it so in her reality she got her powers from the conditions of her preservation. Maybe she doesnt need a freeze gun and instead uses her powers in a much more warlockish way. Maybe make a huge part of her character being extremely appreciative of Victor's efforts. I wouldn't mind seeing how such a devoted and morally conflicted character's actions would affect their loved one after everything was said and done. How would she view EVERYTHING he did for her? Maybe he died/is now the preserved one so she is often mirroring his poetic lines in Batman TAS that reference her but change the subject to him? Theres so many directions to take it in that just seeing this design... I know they wouldnt take... also they could have just used Mr. Freeze lol.

They could have done a buzzuro Mr freeze where he has lava flowing through his suit but it’s cold lava and it freeze stuff cuz he’s from buzzuro world the opposite of the main dc world, but that’s a half decent idea so of course they aren’t going to do it

They could have made a mr freeze thats both cold and hot and split down the middle like two face or a mr freeze that became Batman or Nora becomes freeze.

Mrs. Freeze has been around for a few years now, it has nothing to do with the multiverse stuff and wasn't made up for the game.

I like the idea of Mr. Freeze’s wife being the one to don the suit in some alt universe, but her design really seems like they were trying to make her “normal” instead of the badass wife I imagined her to be. Hopefully other aspects of her character become more interesting

Becuase they wanted their own take, but also couldnt change the core kf the character, their aesthetic or abilities. They gender swapped it. It takes nothing from the character, it also doesnt add much but thats a separate issue.
