@@JohnThems It's because it was written poorly. Arcane, Cyberpunk Edge-runners, Mario movie, Sonic, etc. were all huge hits despite them being adaptations of video games.

I thought this ever since the Final Fantasy PS2 days. Thankfully they did a couple of times. But yeah, I think there would be a market for high quality CG movies.

I do wonder if Sony has any genuine live derive pans after this and fair games. It feels like everything except horizon has been canned. I feel bad cause I do think Live service has potential, but you need to be truly committed to the concept and have something original, I also think Fortnite and the other huge hitters have given deves and publishers very unrealistic expectations. Part go me hopes astro bot (which I ASSUME is built on a comparatively smaller budget and time frame that things like Concord and TLOU) serves as Sony's new model for the smaller games they can structure their tentpole release around.

The creator of Dead Space made the worst Dead Space wanna be ive ever played, sometimes the moons align and things are just right for a gem to be made but if you take those devs and tell them to make another golden goose they have no idea where to start.... and then they get themselves involved with some SBI like "consultant" to guide them straight into the iceberg, just in case they came up with a cool idea and needed something else to ruin the game, that character rooster has very obvious signs of a DEI consultant.

Dont get hyped based on people who used to work at a studio, a lot of game magic comes from the design not the designers. For example, see every crappy game thats come out ever, they're usually made by talented people who've made a decent game or 2 before

Anytime I see a game hyped up because of former talent from a big studio it just fizzles out quickly. I learned to not care about that as far back as Bill Roper and Hellgate London.

It’s also a money issue. I live in Argentina and since they converted prices from Pesos to Dollars I started pirating a ton of games. Games went up like 500% and even more. I went from spending a lot of money per month on Steam purchases to spending literally nothing.

It's absolutely becoming a trend like the zombie games years ago. The fix would be to make more class based shooters for multiplayer instead of hero shooters. Despite call of duty being a top seller every year, it's waning in positive player feedback. People are tired of all the wacky Fortnite shit seeping into games that used to take themselves seriously. Cartoon outfits, overly wacky and quippy dialogue, Nikki Minaj's ass, all that stuff. Not to mention the awfully aggressive sbmm that you can't escape from unless you play ground war. I've been waiting for Sony to capitalize on this, and they just won't. Companies everywhere have lost their balls. Sony has a GOLDEN opportunity right now. To make a shooter with the fps quality of the mw series, with real and serious aesthetics a war game should have, and not have it shove ads for movies and tv shows down my throat every other week.

@xNandoGx yes but Overwatch had this insane potential. The OW leauge fell apart, the best players stopped playing it, and the champions and gameplay got worse with all the supports and shields. It was imbalanced for years with no role que. Just compare how League of Legends developed and Overwatch.

Concord is coming late to the party to a market already filled with successful games (Fortnite, OW, TF2, Valorant and Apex Legend). The Finals tried to do the same thing, and even that game lost the majority of its population in just one month. If Concord wants to succeed, it needs to offer a better value proposition than any of the 3 titans on the market, which is highly unlikely.

The question is what game they will jump to cause there's so many hero shooters in production.

I find Marvel Rivals to have a much more appealing art style and it has things like destruction and a known IP to set it ahead. We also have the Star Wars Hero shooter game too. I believe both of these games are free and are on multiple platforms. Concord has a lot of competition.

Cancel. Write it off taxes. Stop all future live service products. This is even more important if your a new dev. Your entering a market already Maxed out with a title that immediately looks like every other game in the same Genre out at the same time

Forgive me if this comes off as rude or abrasive, I'm just very passionate about games, and I want them to remain a safe escape that people who want to retreat from the world can go to. Shoving in controversial things like identity politics is one way to ruin that aspect for 90% of players.

I would say a robot having pronoun preferences actually makes the most sense, because a default robot is artificial and genderless. That it asks for pronouns means the robot has developed an identity.

I had faith in Helldrivers. I was saying it looks like a hidden jem because killing bugs ala Starship troopers is just awesome. I proved to be right. Now I say that I don't see Concord doing great. People aren't excited for a game of this type right now. If it's good it might manage to exist for a few years but it will never be a success.

@@SIPEROTH I dont think it will hit OW success. But i do think the TFT/OW genere was on a downhill due to OW not being handled correctly. If a studio can do what Blizzard couldn't. I hold out hope they wont fail.

Concord doesnt look promising because its focusing on the wrong aspects of a class shooter. Pushing team focused gameplay by adding more MOBA elements are not why Overwatch was good, it was the arena fps mechnics. Once the arena style gameplay aspects were "balanced" out of Overwatch, it fell off hard.

The more cringe, the more marvel tier dialogue, the more DEI it is = the more likely it is to be an overwatch clone rather than just “hero shooter”. And brother does Concord fit the bill.
