ok so i never watched mlp and thought it was the dumbest shit ever lmao but one day i was scrolling through the tv and mlp was on and i was like whatever, let’s just say i watched like 20 episodes that day

The Moon Rises is the Animation from the sister's point of view. Same song writer. I wish they were actually in the My Little Pony Show. Season one is really centered around young kids, but by the second season it gets really good with story and characters. And most of the songs are pretty catchy. I love the show.

The animation is great, but I love the singer's voice. She does an excellent job of conveying so much emotion in her voice.

My little pony is a decent show I think its good and has pretty good world building and character development.

When looking back on fan-based animation work, this was quite a troubling time for Celestia those centuries ago. Luna had ever-growing resentment toward her older sister who shined brightly among her subjects and upon giving into her sadness and envy, she had been transformed into the wicked mare known as Nightmare Moon. Knowing Celestia could not fight back towards her own sister, she reluctantly used the elements at the very last minute, imprisoning Luna on the moon. Realizing what she had done, it was an event she tearfully regrets. Such is a fate that she had to dutifully undergo to save herself and the kingdom.

MLP is a Top Tier cartoon for sure. This is basically a retelling of what happened in the past before the show started. I would say that the first... err 8 episodes are kinda... ok... but i think that episode 9 and beyond is when most people say... "I like this."

Oh there is quite a bit like what you saw. Fights/battles tend to happen more on the season opening episodes, and finale epsiodes. (The canterlot wedding, the final fight with tirek.) Heck, the first 2 episodes of the series in season 1 cover the rest of the story this video is based on. So, it's probably a great starting point if you want to watch the show.

Yeah, I watch MLP, I'm a brony. It's a great show, but admittedly it's not for everybody ^^; Stuff like here, "from Dragonball" does take place in the show, but only in about one episode. But it's a show mostly about friendship and stuff like that, quite often getting into very deep stuff (there was once an episode centered around five stages of grief). Currently the 8th season of the show is wrapping up (with a movie and a spin-off movie/series in between seasons), after that there will be season 9, so if you'd wanna watch it you will have quite a lot of episodes (almost 200 at this point)^^

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is the one show that reactors can usually watch FULL episodes of without being taken down. These sort of things got the current series extremely popular so even full reactions don't usually get taken down. Just something to think about!

MLP is basically a fantasy / comedy / slice of life cartoon which clearly was originally aimed towards little kids but was always planned to be enjoyable for the hole family. ( I actually normally don't watch slice of life because i find it rather boring but the mix of fantasy and slice of life is pretty neat ) For me it's rarely ever cringy and the character development and continuity is really nice. The first Season is alot weaker then later seasons in my opinion so if you watch through season 1 and think to yourself "well that was kinda fun" you might enjoy the show as it gets way better after season 1. It's 100% a special interest show but for me it manages to make be burst with joy whenever I think about it. ^^

I actually got to watch this at a convention with some of the cast and crew of the actual show along with really well known bronies. The room was absolutely silent for about 10 minutes. When you're a true fan of something you really understand the raw emotion and feelings the show or piece of media you're a fan of is conveying. This fandom has not just animation but fanfiction, art and music that will blow any mainstream artist out of the water tbh.

I'm not too involved in the fandom anymore, but... I still watch the show. It's incredible how far the characters have come. They've literally started off as young teens being sent out into the world and having big aspirations and dreams... only for them to work hard and make those dreams a reality as adults. The Season 1 finale had a song where they were singing about what they wanted and their big aspirations, and they've come so far from that. The character growth is incredible. Rainbow Dash is my favorite pony out of all of them. She started off cocky and arrogant, but now he's more humble and realizes she has a lot to learn in life still. The show is great. Though... you'd only ever get scenes like that in Season openings(first two episodes) and Season finales(last two episodes). Though the show itself is great. It's... honestly really matured. The deal with Celestia and Luna in this video is Celestia was prideful, and she turned a blind eye to her sister's loneliness. They're... basically goddesses. The show also shows them growing as well. Luna dealing with her return and the culture shock 1,000 years of change would cause, and also dealing with the image of "Nightmare Moon" that everybody knows and is afraid of. Celestia deals with the loss of her sister. She's... broken and fragile. She was alone for so long and had to run a kingdom. Watching as ponies lived and died. Though despite that, she still put on a smile for her subjects.

The show is definitely worth trying. It's a little slow in the first half of season 1, but it does go into deep stuff later on. It also handles a lot of dark concepts, not Full Metal Alchemist dark, but it's definitely not all sparkles and sunshine.

you would have to watch the later seasons for the more epic stuff mostly because the creators didn't know it would become this big thing. Also a proud brony here.

Holy shit, I didn't expect this!

This is the MLP Generation 4, Season 1 episodes 1&2 backstory (and they did the actual fight scene in a later season, but way after this animation was done). G4 has almost nothing to do with the inane kitsch for 5 year olds it began as back in the day. It actually has the worldbuilding and character depth you see in this animation and not just with the two sisters but most of the cast. There's another pretty amazing animation called 'Fall of the Crystal Empire', based on an actual episode, that is pretty dark and features the two sisters battling an evil mage. Almost pure action - the animation style is not as amazing as this one, but it's great nontheless. And of course 'The Moon rises' as well. Anyway, great reaction vid!

Let me explain the animation in case you two don’t really understand it: So Celestia the white pony is in charge of raising and lowering the sun while her sister Luna the blue pony is in charge of raising and lowering the moon. But as the days and nights went by Luna grew jealous of her sister because ponies were playing in the day and sleeping at night. Celestia was basically getting all the attention but when she realized Luna wasn’t getting the attention that she wanted it was already too late to apologize. One night, Luna’s jealousy took over her and she transformed into Nightmare Moon and vowed to never lower the moon again. Celestia and Luna then have a battle and eventually Celestia had to use the elements of harmony to banish her sister to the moon and even though she didn’t want to it was for the sake of equestria. Celestia knew that if Luna wasn’t stopped then equestria would be in an internal night forever. After Luna was banished to the moon Celestia then took the responsibility of raising and lowering both the sun and the moon since Luna was long gone after her banishment and couldn’t do her duty anymore. There is another song called “The Moon Rises” and it’s basically told in the perspective of Luna and where she turns into Nightmare Moon and there’s another one called “Lullaby For A Princess Luna’s Reply” and it’s where Luna replies to Celestia’s song and regrets what she had done. Your welcome! (Also I know this because I still watch the show and some other videos relating to this so that’s how I know all of this.)

PonyPhonic did the music, a lot of his stuff is really good, though he mixes up his musical styles. He did make one of the only country songs I actually enjoyed. There is a companion animation that goes with this one by Duo Cartoonist called "The Moon Rises. Animation"

I started watching mlp after their 3rd season. I thought I was too old to like it, but then I saw rainbow dash vs starscream and I'm like "this pony beat a Decepticon? I gotta see more. And I was hooked

9 seasons, a feature length movie and a spinoff series. Amazing animation and voice acting. Deals with some really extreme issues at times but will leave you legit laughing one second and crying the next. I seriously recommend people watch it tbh. Don't let stereotypes or stigma detour you. Seriously watch it or give it a chance

So basically what happened is the white alicorn is the princess of the Sun (her name is Celestia) and the blue alicorn is the princess of the Moon (Her name is Luna). Luna grew jealous and bitter because Celestia was getting more attention and other ponies slept during the night and played during the day. Celestia was sort of neglecting her sister, so one night Luna refused to lower the Moon (her magical duty) and turned into her evil form called "Nightmare Moon" Nightmare Moon and Celestia fought until Celestia was forced to baquise her corrupted sister to the moon for thousands of years using the elements of harmony, those gems at the end. She's singing to Luna as she lowers the Moon and rises the Sun (Also there is another animation called "The Moon Rises" which is Luna turning into Nightmare Moon and singing about how she will never let the Sun rise and will keep the Moon in the sky forever)

7:12 "is this show anything like that" well... some times. What you saw is basically a prequel. but the show it self sometimes goes to the same degree of drama and action scenes (Twilight vs Tirek)

I watched the really really old series & then I accidentally stumbled apon this My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic. I watched an episode & continued to watch. Looooong time ago I found an old original MLP figure in the trash or yard or something. I cleaned it up & set it for display. Sadly it disappeared on me. Mlp is probably something to give a watch if your interested. I think they have 7 outta 8 seasons on netflix I think. Thanx to both of ya for sharing your reaction. There are parts of the show like that. It isn't every episode though. A lot of the draw of the show comes from the world and the characters. If you just want epic fight scenes, then it's probably not for you as stuff like that only happens usually during season openers/finales. There are of course more serious episodes and more light hearted ones. While the show can be beautiful and dramatic and epic etc, a lot of the draw comes from other stuff.

If you like this, you should definitely check out "The Moon Rises". Other notable fan works that don't need any knowledge of the show are TechPony's "Cutie Remark" trailer, and Amante Animation's "Duel of the Fates" animated videos. Part of the series success is the amount of fan created content it has inspired. MLP isn't a show for everyone, and it's not always as epic as in here (though it has some moments). On the other hand, it does have very well developed characters and generally superior storytelling, particularly after the first season when they were still fleshing out the characters. If you do decide to watch it, I've seen it net reactors a lot of subscribers in the past.

I watch mlp and I do agree it is worth giving it a watch even if you don't like it that's fine because you aren't required to like the show to enjoy fan made content like this the animation might not be as good but I would suggest you check out The Moon Rises by Duo Cartoonist the animation in that fan made project is still good regardless and believe you will like it as well

There is a neat, though outdated, series of videos that would be the perfect reaction to see. It is by the KZfaq channel "Historical Equestria", and goes by the same name as the channel. It recounts the history of the current gen, from the pony perspective; meaning it is an actual history lesson delving into the lore/mythology surrounding the current generation. War, Famine, Disease, and much more are shown, with mixes of Canon and Fanon(fill-in between large gaps, but is written in an amazingly realistic way). While some of the pony themed puns throw off key segments, it really shows how dark the pony history was(in 2014). Though, sadly, most has been either retconned, or expanded upon; and the channel hasn't been active for a while.

Anyway, I was wondering if one or both of you guys plan on reacting to the whole MLP show any time? Why not? One objection might be that its long, but I see it as long term content.

07:00 Well, if you ever keep that promise, that would be great :> because there's not many people nowadays who still record their reactions to early seasons of MLP (there's like 8 seasons so far), so it would be unique and appreciated. The new "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" TV show is great, and it may positively surprise you, because it's nothing like those old versions of MLP from the '80s anymore, overly girly and lackluster. It's been totally revamped into a brand new full-blown fantasy world, full of magic, ancient legends, adventures, mythical creatures, symbolism & stuff, with unique relatable characters, good morals and positive message. It's not just for kids, however. There are many little easter eggs for adults too, or deeper adult subjects disguised as childrens' cartoon that only adult viewers can spot ;) Also many pop-culture references and some good humour ;) That's why I watch it as a grown up.

Not hating, but the one criticism I have is maybe pay attention more to the video you're watching. I noticed in the beginning you looked at chat a lot more than the video lol. And your chat could've told you the story a little more before going into it since you didn't seem to understand what was going on. Again, not hating. Just something I noticed and was kind of disappointed by since you guys seem really nice. ^^

One thing I can't stand when showing stuff I like to my friends is them not paying attention, either on their phones or speaking to someone else. While the two of you aren't on your phones, the desperate compulsion to keep checking chat and subs during the most important parts of the song and animation from the both of you is completely detrimental to your actual reaction. If I want to watch these videos with strangers talking around me about other things and not paying attention, I can take my laptop to starbucks and give the original video more views. Take a lesson from other reaction channels and streamers and wait until you're done with what you're watching before turning your attention to chat.
