"Nightmare Moon" was taking over which is a representation of her depression. Nightmare Moon is depression, depression may cause you to push others away. The 7 Elements of Harmony is what helped her heal from her depression. Celestia starts to realize what is happening to her sister. That's my theory.

I really wish more people appreciated celestia, most people think that she just "banished her sister" but they don't understand how much pain and hurt there was to it, and that she never wanted for it to happen, but that the safety of equestria meant she had no choice. Celestia is so important to the show, and if not for her the elements of harmony never would have united, and would have left equestria in ruins. Celestia is the character that makes the show be a show, but just because of look preference or time preference nobody is able to see that...

As an ex-brony, I'd like to say that I am still proud of what the community has created (for the most part, anyway). This stuff is why I like getting into fandoms.

I remember when I was eleven years old, I was scared and sad one night and I couldn't sleep. My mom must have searched "My Little Pony Lullaby" and found this, putting it on to help soothe me. It was my introduction to it and despite the song's sad message I was overcome with adoration for the beauty of it and I would listen to it over and over and try to learn it. It very well may have been one of the reasons I stuck to choir through middle and high school. I'm 21 now and I still love singing. My girlfriend once referred to my voice as hauntingly beautiful once and I cannot think of a kinder compliment for it because it reminds me of this song. Even as I write this and listen, I am moved to tears. A decade later and you are still touching hearts. Thank you.

When I was little, I used to play this song on loop in order to go to bed at night. So much so my mom bought it for me. I had entirely forgotten about it until she mentioned she went through all the songs she owned, and had found it all over again. Thank you for this beautiful piece of music. Just watching the show doesn’t make you see the pain that Luna went through before she became Nightmare Moon. Since it’s a kids show they really can’t go too deep into it. But with the love and passion from the fans, people have gone all out just to showcase what she actually went through and how hard it really was for Celestia and Luna. This song and the animated music video for it is one of the best examples, it does really well with capturing the true emotions the two sisters had, especially with Luna and her finally submitting herself to her overwhelming jealousy and loneliness to eventually becoming Nightmare Moon as well as Celestia’s overwhelming guilt of exiling her little sister to the moon for 1000 years in hopes to reunite and become close with her again.

I play this for my 3 year old grandbaby on repeat if she’s sleeping over. She is a huge MLP FanGirl. My eyes get wet watching her angelic face sleeping while this plays on...... 1000 years of remorse, regret and loss wrapped in a melody so captivating.

i remember first listening to this when i was 8. i came from a horrible family. was treated so badly by my mom. long story short i thought my sister was the reason why my mom hated me, so i hated her for "stealing my mom", i wasnt very nice to her then i noticed my mom mistreating her and realized how she was hurting too, how she was a victim of this family too, and things hit and i related to this song 1000%... cried myself to sleep to this almost daily as a coping mechanism for my pain and guilt for not being there for her and only causing her more pain

it was a gift to have found this song so many years ago. even to this day, i still have tears in my eyes. this fandom has given life to such a beautiful work of art and i'm so thankful.

When I was younger and still very much into MLP, I used to associate this song with my best friend at the time and myself. She and I were as close as sisters, and we thought of each other as such. I loved her more than life itself. When I was eleven, my family and I moved across the country, separating my friend and I. Whilst apart, I used to look up at the moon each night and listen to this, thinking of her all the while, especially the "I love you, I miss you, all these miles away" part. I feel that it's even more fitting because she and I had made Celestia and Luna plushies and exchanged them with one another before I'd moved. Eventually, my family and I moved back home, and my friend and I were happily reunited. After a few years, though, she and I... sort of drifted apart. I still feel that all the middle school drama is mostly to blame, but y'know, part of me has always wished I'd held onto her a little tighter than I had. Tried a little harder. I'd heard she was going through some tough things, although I never witnessed any of it myself, and she wouldn't confide in me. She was definitely one of those special, once-in-a-lifetime friends, though, and I wish I'd continued to treat her as such instead of drive her away. It's like the line "Luna, you're loved so much more than you know. Forgive me for being so blind." It doesn't matter that I was going through some things of my own. I should have been there for the girl I thought of as my sister. I hope she's okay, wherever out there she may be. Edits because I can't spell.

I was introduced to this song by a friend two nights ago (coming back from prom, she got sleepy and slept in the car). I can see why she likes it. I was on the verge of tears when I heard this for the first time!

I'm in my car, my mom driving me home from the hospital. An hour ago we were told my uncle was passing away. My best friend. I was shocked and it hit me like a bus. I barely remember anything until we got there. I looked at him and began to sob, I soon heard from my aunt. 'Hes in heaven with mawmaw and pawpaw now'. I look at the heart monitor and it had flatlined. I sobbed, and soon I saw it. The tube in his mouth was sucking out a dark red fluid. I looked at his gown near his stomach and it was red. I immediately felt sick and I almost passed out. One day for my Birthday he had gotten me a bunch of my little pony stuff. Leaving the hospital, this song repeated in my head. I'll miss him. And thank you for this masterpiece ponyphonic.

One of the greatest pieces left of the mlp fandom. It had a good run, but this song is timeless. Forever in the hearts of this generation and generations beyond. The beauty of Lullaby for A Princess is simply inexpressible in words. It's, as of right now, been near a decade old. Yet the quality of this song will never fade away. It's emotional and tranquil to the core, the notes were hit perfectly, it embodies perfectly what happened that night, and the time preceding to Luna's downfall and Nightmare Moon's rise, even though this song isn't fully canon. In the show, Celestia and Luna is never portrayed deeper as characters than meets the eye, this song is essentially a fanfiction on another, divine level. Anything I say about this piece of music is an understatement.
