Today Skylum officially released the new Luminar Neo v1.0.0. In my honest Luminar Neo review, I'll get you up to speed on this version of Luminar that replaced Luminar 4 and I'll let you know if I think this is the worst Luminar release yet.

On my extrem fast PC Luminar Neo works very well and fast. I love it for the perfect ai extenions. 🥰😍🤩

I’ve used both AI and Neo on Mac 2012 and Airbook M2 and there is no that big difference when it comes to how slow both softwares work. For my needs Ai is still better than Neo.

I got burned with luminar 3. Skylum just abandons whole versions of their software and just grandfathers problems into their new software. It's not the feature sets it's the software. It's complete garbage. The software will run good on some machines and horrible on another. A relatively modest computer should be able to run this ok, but there are too many users, including myself with very powerful computers, Mac or PC, just won't run smoothly. I have 2012 MacBook pro and it's slow, but somewhat useable. I transferred the license to my PC, a maxed out 2019 dell XPS with a i9 9980hk with 32gigs of ram, ssd, and gtx1650...and it basically crashes everytime I even try to use the clone stamp. How is this even possible? the Dell smokes my old MacBook in raw performance.

Also a really annoying feature is on Windows 10, sometimes is spordically dies and sometimes it becomes corrupted and has to be fully removed including the 'Roam' content and then be reinstalled. Cool product but needs lots of TLC. I can;t imagine a non-techie having to deal with this.

Thanks.Very useful.I thought perhaps it was me or a bad configuration. I am a software engineer going back to the 1980's. While this is an innovative solution I have to question the QA process.

I have been a photographer for over 30 years and I use Liminar Neo and Luminar Ai or Pixelmator pro for final editing, the dust spot removal in Neo does not work well enough if at all, i find myself spending a lot of time manually removing them especially when restoring old 1950-1970 slides or scanning prints.

Hi Matt thanks for this. Could you recommend a non-Adobe photo editing app for a beginner such as me - one that will not let me down as I (hopefully) get better. What do you think of ON1. Or perhaps Darktable.

June 27/2022 and it’s still awful. Templates from previous versions still don’t work, and it’s slower than luminar Ai.

Sorry, But it's Ford vs Chevy. Use LR or PS but LUMINAR NEO ROCKS FOR WHAT I WANT AS A PHOTOGRAPHER, period! Sorry, You Don't Like it MANY DO!

Thank you for being honest! So many other "REVIEWS" say things like how great layers in Neo are, but conveniently they forget to leave out the fact that these layers are not actually layers. Basic issues with saving and rotating - {I understand there is a war going on}, but what were they thinking? Sadly, the product is not ready for primetime. Perhaps next year?

I keep going back to Luminar AI because of the new workflow on Neo, Luminar should be user friendly to all but Luminar Neo made it confusing, Luminar AI may be slow but atleast its easier to edit there, i know we can learn to use Neo but the point of luminar is to make things easier, i hate it when you edit it adds a new layer and the old layer just go down, i just want one layer for my develop adjustments and not more layers

OMG another critic... we all had the chance to leave this and download it at a later date but even then to fast for somen, and it is still to soon for bad coments. work in progress means it ain't finished. I don't blame skylum for letting this go early, at the end of the day they probably didn't know they would even be around to see the outcome of there new creation. and for what its worth I don't like what i see. so I won't be subscribing.
