Hey everyone! Happy 2024! I'm excited to start off the year with this lens review for the LUMIX 100mm f2.8 Macro lens. This lens is SO SMALL, but did they cut any corners with image quality? I test this lens out on the LUMIX S5II for portrait photography and share 100% crops of all the photos I'm taking so you can see all the details. I also have some video examples from this lens also taken on the S5II. Let me know your thoughts!

Dear Julia, you are one of my faves when it comes to camera- lenses -photography-edit content! I appreciated this one on Lumix a lot since I have one for video (and have been using it for portraits as well)!😍

Thank you for the great review (as usual :))! The lens looks like a really good option and very versatile for almost anything including the weddings. The weight is awesome and I really appreciate the responsiveness and speed of the autofocus.

Wow! Reminds me of my old Olympus OM-system 100mm f2.8 which I had from 1985-2003. That wasn't a macro but was around the same size, and was a stellar portrait lens...

@juliatrotti Awesome review as always, and best use of nonagonal ever. :) I love how high quality lenses have been getting so much smaller. How would you say this lens compares to the Sony 90 mm macro? I have the Sony. It's OK, but it is so slow compared to more modern Sony lenses. I would love a better replacement for it...

From 1973 - 1993 I loved my Minolta 100mm f:2.5, after then my Canon L 100mm f:2.8, now my Sigma 105mm F:2.8... all of them excellent workhorses... time to change to Panasonic?

Hope lumix s1r ii comes out this year and gives us same 30fps and open gate video with more resolution and hopefully stacked sensor with no rolling shutter. then i’ll leave sony behind

There’s a lot of good to this lens, the portraits came out great. That and it being lighter in weight when you have to carry it around all day is awesome

The great thing about the Lumix platform is the value of great lenses compared to others Like Canon and Sony. I will start saving my pennies for that lens.
