Best shots/grade I've seen out of the S5, hands down. Those shots could cut into a Hollywood production easily - incredibly well done. I was in the market for a hybrid camera for my kit as a B-cam to my Ursa 12K. After seeing this video, I think the S5 may spend more time in my hands than I initially expected.

This looks really nice! You proved that you can shoot movies with the S5 and a nice lineup of Contax Zeiss lenses. I love!!! these lenses and the S5. I bought the S5 for stills and as a b-cam for my rigged out Sigma FP. Now I ended up using the FP as my b-cam (if I absolutely need one) and doing most of my work with the S5.

Hi i am planning to buy this camera my only concern is autofocus. What is your suggestion should i go for this in 2022 or stick to Sony. BTW i really love your work.

Which Sony and what are your shooting primarily? I never use autofocus so I can’t comment too much on that.

Stunning footage. I have s5ii and tried to take a look at bmpcc lineups, but I just gave up because my s5(ii) is as good as them!

@@iamjacobmartin just do the rec conversion and then take a clip of this video and resolve can match the shot in the grade.

Thank you! I used the panasonic Vlog to rec709 conversion in davinci resolve and then hand graded from there. Just push, pull, nothing crazy.

@@DanielTroyer what about the codec? have you got any artifacts when you grade the footage (blocks on dark zones or banding)?

@@ratadeldesierto760 definitely some banding in the skies. Seems to be the only issue I run into. I think recording out to external would solve this.

Great shots man, the grading is so nice, that grain is nice too. Got tons of questions if you don't mind. -Which contax zeiss were used? -What grain do you use? An overlay or Davinci resolves (assuming you grade with davinci that is) -Any luts or plugs in used to get the look? hahaha, i might as well as you to make a tutorial, thanks in advance brother, keep up the good work

Sorry for the late response! 1. 25,35,50,135 AE 2. Not sure if the grain, I have a bunch of overlays on the hard drive and can’t remember which one I used. 3. No LUTs, this was hand graded. It’s actually a very simple grade.

@@amiramaxwell sigma L to EF adapter and I changed the mounts on the Zeiss to EF hard mounts.
