I wondered about that. Can’t bank too far before one of those wingtips touches the water. But you can’t raise the wings too high, otherwise that defeats the ground effect. And you can’t fiddle with the wing orientation, because it’s the angled lift vector that makes the craft turn.

Well... lun wasn't completely bound to the altitude of 2 or 3 meters, so it could ascend to 12 meters, turn and descend again. Big and fast ships don't sail in circles, then why should an ekranoplan do? Turning 10° or 15° should be possible this way. I also heard that lun could leave ground effect(obviously it' not what it was build for, but quite useful in some situations), but i'm not sure if you could trust this source or not.
