What makes season 4 stand out from the others is how complex the plot is, full of surprises, secrets, mysteries and twists. Not just that, but we get see hidden sides of characters we never expected to see. This episode was able to hint for one character in particular, which will be further explored. I hope your heart is ready because what is coming is even more thrilling than what you have already seen.

Oh, my favorite unification costume was the Dragon Bug, Tikki and the Dragon Kwami. Ladybug was cool in that costume. But the Ladybee was cool too!

The factthat thisepisode was intense I had to rewatch it over and over to understad what was going on it was a rollercoaster and by far one of my favorites.

What's impressed me up to this point is the evolution of Alya within the Ladybug phenomenon. She started off as a fangirl, but then her blog became the authoritative source for information about Paris's new superheroes and a possible asset in the fight against Hawkmoth (later Shadowmoth). Then Ladybug entrusted Alya with a Miraculous and she became an auxiliary member of the very superhero team she loved. _And then_ Ladybug chose her as the first person she came out to, so to speak--discovering that her hero was also her very best friend, and becoming Ladybug's sole confidant when she needed someone the most. And now even Shadowmoth realizes Alya's value to his archnemesis, to the point that he targeted her to get to Ladybug. I'm not going to spoil future episodes. All I'm going to say is that it gets better from here, especially if you're an Alya fan like Luna.

Slowly but surely, this series is turning a corner. From the vignettes of individual characters, including a different Akuma victim each episode, rescued by the core duo between whom there is much intrigue and frustration for viewers that their relationship doesn't get to another level as it feels it should, we have now reached a point where the stakes are high, there is a real sense of threat from Shadowmoth's increasing desperation (a desperate villain is a more dangerous one) and the core duo is under growing strain, as another duo is developing. Marinette's nightmare is the stuff of adult drama. She is processing the potential consequences of having allowed Alya to keep a Miraculous - it was a big decision, and big decisions in real life can engender feelings of doubt ("Are we really doing the right thing?") or concern ("What if this happens? Are we mentally and physically ready for it? There's no going back, but what if the results are disastrous?"). Learning to handle that is part of growing from child to adult, as is learning to accept consequences and - where we think they are bad - learning how to turn a negative into a positive, as far as possible. That last bit is something Marinette has yet to do at this point. Of course, the Cat Blanc moment is hugely significant too. Of all the akumatised villains she has encountered, Cat Blanc was the one that shocked her the most. He actually traumatised her, and her behaviour ever since has exhibited most of the signs of real-world PTSD. Revealing her identity to Alya lifted a weight, but unfortunately not that particular weight. Alya knowing who she is won't undo the damage of the Cat Blanc encounter. She will still be afflicted; one of the symptoms of affliction is making an attempt to avoid trigger factors, and Cat Noir is a major trigger in this case, so using Alya more and Cat Noir less is not going to be an effective cure - indeed, as you've mused in the post-episode rumination, avoiding and sidelining him could have an adverse effect on their relationship, their efficiency and maybe even their success in future missions. We shall have to see what happens. It's an interesting observation that Shadowmoth is increasingly present on the scene of his plans. One possible explanation lies in the previous season, in installments such as "Miraculer" and "Feast." Mayura was Hawkmoth's agent on the ground in such episodes, acting as an enforcer for his plans and also generating Sentimonsters, which needed her to be close at hand so she could control them. Now that Shadowmoth himself is generating the Sentimonsters, he has to be present in order to control them. (There's also the old saying: if you want something done right, do it yourself....) An aspect of the production of this episode had me intrigued, shocked even - in a good way! It didn't appear in the reaction, but towards the end of the episode we see Cat Noir's bubble descend towards the street, at which point a sound effect can be heard which came originally from the very first Star Trek film in 1979. I have long enjoyed Star Trek, so you can imagine what kind of a surprise that was!

okay, i know i keep reiterating this, but this episode is very complex and requires a good deal of focus, and i only just remembered something that might explain why. this episode’s script’s first draft was 1 hour long! i imagine with that, they could space out events better, but they had to squeeze it down to 20 minutes and thus everything happened at once. good news though, apparently S5 will not force every episode to be the same length! you said you’ve seen through “Simpleman”. this means you know the Cat Noir neglect continues throughout the next episodes. i actually refer to 415-417 as the ‘depression trilogy’. when i found out about Pegabug in this episode, i thought ‘are they gonna have Ladybug unify with every Miraculous by the end?’. but i don’t think that any more. i mean, we could, but just, we need to see them all on other people first, you know? ANYWAY! next we got “Glaciator 2”, and oh boy i hope you made popcorn for that one!

Now I need you to watch wishmaker AND THE FINAL XD

ladybug was such a goose in this episode, she surprise attacked shadow moth while he was in public for one of the only times ever, only to grab the coffee cup and not his miraculous which was a few inches away… like who cares about the amuck when you can get the miraculous itself and win 😭😭

Cat Noir deserves better treatment. He’s as usual being thrown to the side even though he’s the one who has been there since the start. Not only master Fu treated him like an outsider and played favorites with Marinette, but now Ladybug is doing the same and as Always is taking him for granted.

After watch this episode I'll only say one thing.... ALYA IS THE BEST 🧡🦊

Your the best miraculous reacted of them all

the writers wanted to point out that the events of chat blanc have never left marinette's mind, this, along with all her added responsibilities as guardian, will effect her and her relationships. Hawkmoth has not attempted to persuade the other heroes to his side, like he did with chloe, as they are much harder to convince and because they do not have a clear enough weakness which connects them to ladybug. The only reason he targeted Alya was because she accidentally revealed to him that she had a closer connection to Ladybug when she brought a miraculous to sentinino in "Optigami". However, he had to resort to threats in order to persuade Alya into doing what he wanted, but thanks to Alya actions alone, marinette realized that friends like Alya would not be easily manipulated into joining hawkmoths side and betray her as they prioritized their selflessness and better judgment. What happened with Alya in "Gang of secrets" and "Sentibubbler:, ultimately helped ladybug ease up on the idea about re-entrusting miraculous to the other holders who's identities are already known by hawkmoth.

I feel so bad for Catnoir. He deserves better.
