This is a great tutorial series. Thank you for posting it. Do you find that the Indian style or French style is easier or faster? And is one easier than the other for sequins? Also, does the hook on the needle ever snag the fabric?
@slautaschool
@slautaschool 5 жыл бұрын
Hello! Thank you for your kind words) With regards to the easiness, it depends.. some of my students find the french method faster, however, in my opinion, if you embroider any particular pattern (and not just the ornament) it is better to see the embroidery from the face side, thus I prefer Indian method. The hook may snag the fabric only in two cases: either the student's hand needs more practice, or the fabric has to be a good one. The right fabric should be between softness and hardness - synthetical chiffon is one of my best choices) Again thank you for the comments, I am happy to assist any question of yours!

Dear Esra, Thank you very much for your comment and your kind interest in this type of embroidery! I am happy to bring some use in these uneasy days.. There is no specific brand for the threads, it is a regular metal thread, however, you need to make sure that the thread is not doubling, otherwise, it is hard to embroider. Enjoy and ask me anything if needed)

Thank you very much!!!!!! This is a very very great and detailed tutorial series. I have learned so much knowledge about Luneville Embroidery, in my country, this is still a minority technique, they generally hold offline courses, so it's hard for me to get more information online. But I still feel confused about the choice of needles, from your tutorials, I found that I prefer Indian style than french style, should I buy another Indian needle, or just keep using a french needle?
@slautaschool
@slautaschool 4 жыл бұрын
Hello!!! I am so grateful for your kind words)) thank you... I always use needle # 70 - this is my choice for all works. And yes, I also prefer the Indian technique, however, the french one is much faster! I wish you all the success and keep in touch if you need advice)

Hello Kristina. Thank you for the videos you put on KZfaq. I am having trouble with sequins spacing also the corners. Do you have any tips on how to improve? Thank you.
@slautaschool
@slautaschool 4 жыл бұрын
Hello)) Thank you for your kind comments) Be advised that with regards to the spacing everything should be on your eye, it depends on the size of the sequins (if it is 4 mm - apply 2,5 mm stitch, if it is 6mm - 3 mm respectively or even more). There are rules indeed)) Corners: practice making short (1-1,5 mm) securing stitches. Once it is trained - you may fix accurate corners only by applying these short loose stitches. Try to feel the stitches - even though it sounds strange, but later on, you will manage everything according to your intuition. Just needs more time))) Wishing you all the success and always good energy!
@feestuart2499

@@slautaschool Thank you Kristina. I am using hard tulle as my fabric, the hook snags on the organza. Perhaps this is why i am not getting the best results with my square sequins. I will try again with organza fabric and apply the short loose stitches.
@slautaschool
@slautaschool 4 жыл бұрын
@@feestuart2499 probably you should also check the tension of the fabric since it could also cause this problem..

Make sure you set the hook of the needle in front of the screw 1000% as well as mount the fabric on the frame very-very tight. Then give yourself 1-2 hours of patience and you are ready))
