Il lungomare di Napoli è uno dei luoghi più amati e frequentati da cittadini e turisti e costantemente animato da eventi e manifestazioni di ogni genere ma anche dai numerosi bar, ristoranti e pizzerie che si susseguono lungo tutto il tragitto.
Il Lungomare è lungo circa 3 km, parte da Santa Lucia, da via Nazario Sauro, e arriva fino a Mergellina, dove finisce via Caracciolo, costeggiando una delle “vedute” più belle del mondo, in grado di affascinare i turisti ma anche gli abitanti stessi che affollano la splendida promenade durante tutto l’anno.
Passeggiare sul Lungomare di Napoli significa ammirare in un colpo d’occhio la maggior parte delle bellezze che caratterizzano la città: il Vesuvio, l’isola di Capri, Castel dell’Ovo ed il promontorio di Posillipo, mentre dall’altra parte della strada si può assistere, in ogni momento della giornata, all’animata vita della città, fatta di bar, ristoranti di vario genere e pizzerie.
Una tappa d’obbligo in una passeggiata sul Lungomare è al Borgo Marinari, un pittoresco porticciolo animato da baretti e ristoranti specializzati in pesce fresco, dove sembra che il tempo si sia fermato. Il Borgo nacque sull’Isolotto di Megaride dove, secondo il mito greco, fu sepolto il corpo della sirena Partenope, che si lasciò morire in queste acque dopo il rifiuto di Ulisse al suo amore. E fu proprio l’Isolotto di Megaride a dare origini la città che nacque quindi, a tutti gli effetti, a partire dal mare. Qui sorge anche il celebre Castel dell’Ovo, il più antico castello di Napoli e vero simbolo della città. Il castello è visitabile sia all’interno, dove nelle sue sale vengono allestite mostre ed esposizioni fotografiche, sia all’esterno, da dove si può ammirare, da qualsiasi altezza, il Lungomare da un inedito punto di vista: dal mare.

An obligatory stop on the seafront is Borgo Marinari, a picturesque harbor animated by bars and restaurants specializing in the cuisine of fresh fish, where time seems to have stopped. The village was born on the islet of Megaride where, according to Greek myth, the body of the siren Parthenope was buried, who let herself die in these waters after Ulysses refused her love. And it was the islet of Megaride that gave rise to the city that was therefore born, in all respects, from the sea. Here there is also the famous Castel dell’Ovo, the oldest castle in Naples and a true symbol of the city. The castle can be visited both inside, where exhibitions and photographic exhibitions are set up in its rooms, and outside, from where you can admire, from any height, the seafront from an unprecedented point of view: from the sea.
