And that’s what’s the best about hip hop like this, they compete with each other in a sense when writing, and it brings out the battle rhymes and that ultimate creativity to have the best verse. Wu tang used to do that also when they were all in studio together writing. You always want to one up the other person to create the best music

@@iammrwack If you ever were into Adult Swim cartoons back in the early 2000's try Danger DOOM's 'The Mouse and the Mask" (DOOM x Danger Mouse). Kinda a niche concept album, but if you grew up with Space Ghost, Sealab, Aqua Teen, and Harvey Birdman, it just shows how DOOM can write about anything. MMFOOD also shows this. Whole album of intricate flows about food.

@@iammrwack Ha, I like lots. I check your videos out often, mostly for Aesop Rock reactions. My favorite rapper ever. DOOM and Aesop are equally talented on flows, but I relate to each in completely different ways. I liked DOOM way before "Mouse and the Mask", but that one is my fav of his, simply because at that time (20 years ago?) some of my best friendships ever were formed on "Sunday marathon GTA3 and Adult Swim" nights. Good times. If you know those shows at all, you'll love it. Zorak crushing Brak's spirit, Meatwad dropping bars, Master Shake throwing shade at DOOM (but, "Call me!"), Carl all "Where's the stuff white people like?" and Dr. Quinn to Stormy: "Whoa, whoa, whoa... Why is she 'Black Debbie'?". I whistle the "Space Ho's" melody all the time. DOOM's got some more deep, serious stuff, but overall I relate to Aesop way more on a way more personal level. Supposedly, I also have so-called "issues" with "patience" and "communicating at a level appropriate to a message's receiver". According to my therapist (wife). Take Aesop's "Grace", for example, about not wanting to eat green beans. Such a simple concept, but from a kid's perspective it's such a perfect metaphor for the daily power struggle of a kid to become an adult, and from the adult's perspective "Why act like an asshole for no benefit when you could be out riding with your friends?". You have no idea how many times as a parent I've immediately thought (but not said) "This ends now! Eat the goddamn beans!", before laughing a bit to myself, calming myself down a notch, and rephrasing it more appropriately for a kid.
