Ainz and Aura's father-daughter relationship is one of my favorite parts of the series. Wholesome stuff.

We've seen Aura of Despair before. It's a passive skill with 5 levels. Each level causes a different effect. He used level 1 on Hamusuke to cause Fear. The other levels cause Panic (more severe version of Fear), Confusion, Insanity (more severe, semi-permanent Confusion), and level 5 causes Instant Death. Foie gras is a delicacy in French cuisine. It's made from the liver of a fattened up goose or duck. Production typically involves force-feeding the animal, leading to controversy regarding animal welfare. There's alternative production methods, like in Spain there are farmers who time the slaughter to coincide with the time of year where the animals naturally try to eat more and get fatter livers to prepare for migration. And yeah, Ainz added Nemu to the list of people to protect. As much as he likes to go on about doing things only for the benefit of Nazarick, he's absolutely not immune to placing people under his protection if they charm him in some way. Nemu complimented his home and his friends, and is just in general a kind and happy girl, so Ainz finds her worthy of being protected, especially since Lupu has others to protect in the village anyway. Kind of similar reason as why he placed Tuare under his protection. There was no real benefit to it (besides making Sebas not upset I suppose), but her sister helped him out and he wanted to repay the favor, and she was also respectful towards him and his allies. I mean, Ainz did admit he was a hypocrite, so it's fine in that sense aye? The reason Ainz sent the attack to the village is mainly that he wanted a test for Lupusregina. She passed by first reporting the situation as it occurred (relayed by Entoma), and then carrying out her job of protecting the three people. Additionally, Ainz wanted to use Guu's sword to strengthen the village, but he didn't want to just waltz in and give it to them, because that'd open up questions about what he was doing there. The village knows there is a "King of Ruin", who is building a fortress of undead in the forest (the fake Nazarick), and they've seen Ainz with an undead as well back when he first rescued the village, so maybe that'd end up being too much of a giveaway that he's up to less than morally pure activities. Whatever his exact motivations, he decided to not give the sword to them directly and instead just sent over zombie Guu so they could defeat him and take the sword that way. Since that fit in with the test he wanted to create, I guess he just figured it was a good way to get everything done in one go.

Nemu is a kid. She speaks with childlike sincerity. This gets to people. I don't think some adult would have as much levity in Ainz's reaction. Though flattery always works to some extent.

Aura and Mare are 70 years old and still children because they are elves, Dark Elves if I'm remembering correctly because their coloration is somewhat more tan and thus "darker" than regular Wood Elves. Elves live for easily a thousand years on average. So 70 for a pure-blood elf is like being a pre-teen or young teenager. That's why they act so shy and awkward sometimes, especially around Ainz. It's also why they react so strongly any time he cares for, praises them or gives them any kind of personal attention. They literally are "just kids" compared to everyone else in Nazarick.

This little arc with Carne Village wasn’t adapted particularly well from the novel. Originally, the first part of the story was from the perspective of Enri and Nphirea and a lot of details that left the reader asking “what is Ainz planning?”, afterwards being answered by the perspective of Ainz. In the anime they chose to adapt it chronologically and switch between both perspectives, killing the little mystery at the core of the altercation.

Once again clueless Ains doesn't choose his words, Ains loves all the denizens of Nazarick as the children of his guildmates, he views himself as something like an uncle. I always get a chuckle seeing tiny Aura dragging the Naga away by their throat. Lupus has orders to protect Nphirea but her sadistic streak will let him be beat to a pulp before she steps in. Lupua is a healer which makes her even more dangerous, she can torture you to the brink of death then heal you so she can torture you again rinse and repeat till she gets tired of playing. Fast way to get on the protected list be of use to Ains or praise Nazarick. The attack was to see if Lupus would report the attack and ask for permission to defend her charges.

It is been a while since I read the novels, but if I remember correctly, Ainz did kill everyone from Giant's faction and revived him as a zombie (hense he was not regenerating during the fight). He also asked Naga guy if he had a troll subordinate to infiltrate the village to cause some havoc (he left him alive). Essentially all other attackers were alive monsters from Naga's faction with the exception of a Giant. He did this for two reasons: 1. Most important one - test how well Lupus will protect people from the 'list', how well would she be reporting that, etc. 2. Far less important one - to give that magic sword to someone more or less capable within the village in order to strengthen it. If sword was good, Ainz would have taken it for himself (as he LOVES collecting stiluff). But because sword was kinda meh in his opinion, he decided to give it off

Character game overlord has things that called Karma level or you can called how evil is character. Lupus regina has karma negative 200: Significantly Evil. Nabe has Negative 400: Very Evil, and Yuri alpha Positive 150: Good. You can tell how Lupus can still talk with village people while Nabe is looking down human race(except human on guild nazarick and Enri from previous episode 3).
