what sort of rod and line you need for sea ive a wee shakespear spinning rod with 8lb line atm
@northcoastanglerni3 жыл бұрын
I use a ultra light lure rod so I tend to use 8lb line for it but if you are using a stronger rod you tend to use stronger line.

I was down today looking for this spot could you tell me a bit more about how to get to it I head a few of the locals say about a path in the caravan park but I didn’t know if I could park there or where to even start I parked In ferry terminal and tried to walk round the coast but could only get just past the cave didn’t fancy jumping across the gap or getting cut off with tide what way do you get to it? I pulled a cracker pb pollock fishing off the rocks at the cave but only big one I got all day.

hello chris. i always head around to the very end but always check the tides before i go. great spot in the summer for pollock and wrasse

I still can’t find out how to get to it lol 😅I was just there today again and walked the whole length of the caravan parks on top of the cliffs to look for a way down. Might have to buy a paddle board the way things are going haha.

it is the path along the bottom of the cliffs just past ballycastle ferry terminal. you can access it from the carpark. it can be a dangerous place to fish with loose rock falling from cliff face at certain parts and the tide can cut you off if you go far enough around the path. tight lines :)

Its `Port Calliagh` Chrissy, next door to silvercliffs caravan park, theres a further developement taking place right at the top of the cliff of Port Calliagh & i hope in no way they try to prevent local anglers access, it is a public `right of way` its a fantastic mark for Wrasse Laithe (Pollock) & Glashing (Coalies) & many many more species indeed. Try there.. go there. but be safe Chrissy caus it is a dangerous enough cliff path down to Port Calliagh, p.s. the views from Kenbane across Rathlin Island to Fairhead are stunning! Go see, :)

@@seandaniels9168 where is the cliff path is it the path along past the cave? From the harbour? Or is there a way to access it from the back of the caravan park I just walked the length of it and couldn’t find a way down it’s all sheer cliff I’m busting to fish this mark but can’t find out how to get to it.
