LURE Fishing the PIPELINE on the JAMES RIVER!! (Searching for MONSTERS!)

Күн бұрынBite on the bridge for striper has been SLOW! With the striped bass still high on the priorities, I decided to go out with some friends to grounds they are more familiar with. In this area, we chose to switch it up and throw lures!
On the first day, only had a few hours to fish. But the bite was pretty good. Lost a few fish but managed to land one before complete dark.
This is my PB for a Blue Cat on artificial (in the mouth).
We went back the 2nd day after everyone was done with work to try again. Didn't end up bad at all!

Talked to a guy who has fished with you in Richmond some. We were catching shad in Petersburg and we came up on your videos. Older light skinned fella from Florida, really cool cat says he loves catching striper.

Good largemouth fishing more towards the middle if you can get over there. I know how but I ain't tellin haha

@@mcb2206 I hear ya man. I usually use a yak or walk the tracks to get towards the middle. I don't really make videos of the more "secret spots". Gotta keep some fishin holes quite.

I'm confused, if not Lures, what do you usually fish with? lol. I reckon live bait?

Typically for catfish, it is dead bait on the bottom. Flatheads, live bait on the bottom. Not as common to catch a blue cat on lures...happens a lot, just not as much.

Crappie, all over. Swift creek have a good amount of em! Trout, dorey or sheilds lake :)

My knowledge of white bass is very limited in the James. Largemouth, smallmouth and striped, I could give ya a bit more info. Never really targeted white bass here.

@@darealquartermill3543 let me put it this way. When I fished hard for them (put a lot of time in) we would catch em regularly. That being said, I do much less of that now. Although I still catch em, they are harder to come by. The new walking bridge by belle isle holds em. Near the dams. Can pick em up behind structure. I would check out that walking bridge!
