Lure Making WTD Lure - Part 2 - Build to Catch

In this lure making tutorial, I continue to work on WTD lure. The second part covers hot stamping holographic foil, foiling the lure face with aluminium tape, my special colour shift 3D scale effect back painting. Finally I decided to show why and how I tied the special double assist hook for this lure. The Mandatory swim test is included, plus some nice fish catching at the end of the video.

Thanks man 🙂 I did fish with it on Krete in Chania, I was hoping for some sea bass, but sadly no bites 😔 I guess it would work well, I just wasn't lucky enough to catch anything

Very nice lure action, i am impressed. I would love to replicate something like this one day. The asist hooks were interesting way of doing it and very effective. I normally see a inline single hook at the rear. The assist hooks normally would attach with a nail knot and add crystal flash for that extra shinny bling, we use them on big game fish on other lures. If you can pearce the assist cord then bind it to the hook for a more secure connection, rather than straight binding. Also assist hooks should attach to a solid ring not directly to a split ring as it can damage the assist cord.

Thanks for the tips 🙂 but since this is not a heavy duty fishing, the way I did it is sufficient for the drag settings and the power of freshwater fish 🐟 next lure will be big game popper for GT fishing, as I'm going for holiday to Bali after tomorrow 💪🎣 so hopefully in the second part of the video some hot action will be included as well 🙂🤞 all the best from Poland 👋🎣

@SuchaJerkCustomLures I have been to Bali a few times, but not fishing 🤣. Be sure that all lures you take have straight through wire and twisted terminations inside the lure not open loops. A big GT will pull out/ straighten open U shaped through wires they are awsome. Even the belly wire loop you need to put a proper twist to secure it in the lure.

@@Side85Winder most of the heavy duty lures I have, they have twisted through wire, the smaller ones are cast in resin, so that's secure the wore rather well, besides I'll be fishing max 11kg/23lb of drag (that's what my Shimano 8k can pull off) so I'll should be fine 😉

Hello from Poland 👋 🎣 yes, this lure was made mostly for Asp, the first time I used it I manage to catch 19 Asp from 40-65cm in 3h of fishing 🤯 lately Asp is my favourite fish to catch 😊 last season in PL from May till Dec) I caught total of 103 Asp 💪 all the best and peace to Ukraine 🙏

@@Adam-qw6xn ja kupiłem grubość 8mm 150x150mm (przeciąłem na pół i mam akurat dwie) cieńszej bym nie kupował, ta 1cm ewentualnie jakbyś planował jakieś bardzo krągłe wobki robić, to Ci się zagnie fajne po bokach 😉

Hola 👋 es una espuma especial para hot stamping, aguanta bien la temperatura y al ser suave no dañas tu señuelo al presionar fuerte 😉 el enlace para comprarlo está en la descripción del video 😉

Czy uważasz że zmiana na tylnym oczku z kotwicy na dwa haki daje lepsze możliwości 🤔

Skuteczność zacięć nieporównywalnie lepsza niż przy kotwicy. Na te 30 ryb wyciągniętych, podczas tego pierwszego łowienia, nie wcięło się może z 5 👌 a szczególnie poprawia skuteczność przy okoniach i kleniach... nawet Jazia 45cm złowiłem (oczywiście na tylny haczyk) pierwszy raz w życiu na WTD 😎

Again , a motivating post thanks for sharing. Which varnish you used as dip for top coat , is it holdling good like epoxy. Thanks Raghubir.

Hi Raghubir 👋 the varnish is called HartzLack and I guess is made in Poland. It's way more durable than epoxy, but you need at least 5 dips to have as thick a layer as one thin layer of epoxy. I'm using it only when I wish to preserve the carving details.

Не ти трябва силиконова подложка. Същият ефект се получава и с намазване със секундно лепило преди фолиото и веднага стягане с някакъв плътен дунапрен.
