This show is one of ten sold-out dates (115,000 people in total) that Luther did at Wembley Arena in March & April 1989 as part of his Any Love tour. I was at one of these shows! His vocal mastery was captivating, it was a privilege to be there ❤🇬🇧

God Willing, I'll soon be returning to NJIT to study Software Developer studies, but I once had dreams of becoming a performer. I started tuning my singing voice by listening to the Temptations. But, it wasn't until recently I was turned on to listening to Mr. Vandross' catalog and his talent at singing can't even be LIGHTLY mimicked by anyone. Luther, Michael Jackson, Prince, Donny Hathaway, Teddy Pendergrass, Al Green, & Barry White are in categories by themselves. We'll miss those who've ascended, Al's still going strong, I could be mistaken, hope not, but you get my point.

For years this man sang on the backsidee of the mountain. In commerical gingles, he sang backgtound for many singers Chic and others, was a featured singer for the group Change. THEN and I do mean THEN we met him as Luther. So when we hear him we hear an abundance of talent, preparation and EXECUTTION. I saw him many times live and mesmerized each time.

I saw Luther at the Civic Center in Birmingham AL...He was super on stage with all his actors for all of his great songs!!! We were all so young under 33!!!! So in love!!!! We were all about the same as Luther...He us back for Aretha...He was the Best in my Book , got all of his CDs!!!!!❤❤🎉🎉

Luther Vandross concert was the first Concert I have ever seen. In Greensboro, NC November 6,1988. He had the group MTume who sang Juicy Fruit. I will never forget it. Luther is a true Legend.

I really didn’t listen to Luther that much when I was younger probably because I wasn’t that much into love songs, I guess, but I’m so very grateful that I’m listening to this concert right now, this man was incredible ❤. August 23 2024 right here and now. Listening to him sing my No.1 favorite song. (Superstar/Until You Come Back To Me) And when the 5 of his background singers hit that "Say It Say It". That was so damn beautiful hearing that harmonizing. Plus i had a thing for Lisa Fischer. Such a fine, sexy, woman in her day.

It funny, I bought this dvd when it first came out in 1988.....I had the chance to go to his concerts. What a class act...Most people are not aware the Great Marcus Miller wrote many hits for Luther Vandross. He produced Luther's albums. Marcus Miller has written and performed so many great singers and musicians over the decades. He was in his early 30 's when he wrote for Luther. After Luther left that record label his hits went down and his music changed in the 1990's because Marcus Miller was no longer on the same record label with Luther. Look up Marcus Miller and go see him perform. One of the baddest bassist in the world, producer still today. if Marcus had a singing voice he would been a superstar writing for Luther, Aretha, Mikes Davis, and David Sanborn and EU hit song Da Butt and the Jamaica Boys featuring Bernard Wright..Luther spoke highly of Marcus Miller.

The DVD was reissued in 2000 but I bought the original from Barnes and Noble back in 1989.....I was off by a year on release date going by memory.....

honestly I like coming here so I can play the beginning of “Never Too Much” over and over lol. The instrumental itself is legendary but hearing it played live is next level. Their entrance coupled with that unforgettable melody and those glittering outfits pulls the audience in … while they themselves absorb the audience’s energy and get their own nerves under control … then they hit the stage and it’s go time!! They casually greet the audience and then subtly slip into performance mode, as if inviting everyone to one big party. Not even sure if that was the intention but still enjoy seeing it!
