as an elderly person introduced to BTS during the pandemic via online, my attention was drawn to Park Jimin because of his eyes. KZfaq clips and close-up shots of Jimin featured his attractive face and then when Jimin gets aware of the camera is focused on him he stares at the camera lens and his image is directly transmitted to the viewer almost unmediated. As a viewer I got the sense that he was looking, smiling or talking to ME. I did not get this vibe from the other members. So I started to follow clips and videos of Jimin. And it was consistent the when the camera is focused on him Jimin then stares at the camera lens and the image gets transmitted seemingly unmediated. I expected this skill from Kim Soekjin who is a trained actor and knows how to project his person through the screen. Jimin seems to do this naturally. I started to Jim-in and thus followed clips and videos of his performances. Though Jimin is my bias I began to love all the 7 especially when I could distinguish one member the other. Then I started to notice the association of Jimin with Jeon Jungkook, another very talented member of BTS. When the Jikook ship formed I also followed them. Through many analysis of commentators, Army and even experts in sociology and pyschology I got meaningful insights of relationships in the group. It is not only Jikook but others like Jinkook, Yoonmin, Taekook, Namjin, 2Soek, Vminkook and all forms of bonding in the group, The Jikook however is so engrossing because of the lines they dared to cross - constant company, a world of their own even in the group, to the level of being encyclopedia about each other. All these permutations of male bonding and friendship helped expand my horizon and learning not put limits or barriers of friends between women and men, among women and among men. This found helpful when the physical distance was imposed during the pandemic and individuals and communities have to relate through social media while maintaining social distance. Isn't this ironic!!!??? But the various ship-pings formed by BTS helped boundaries not only of personal and interpersonal kind. What I found relevant is when BTS started to advocate social causes and their voice reached the UN general assembly and was employed by the US government to address racism and discrimination. From the deep bond and friendship of two men, to 7 men to Army of fans to possible global concern for humanity and the earth's survival. This is inspiring. As an elderly woman, I thought that youth is wasted in the young but BTS and many other youth groups and youth leaders have given men hope in the future. Yes, the best is yet to come. Congratulations BTS and thank you very much.

I don't know if they are really a thing or not, but I just feel so happy watching them be there for each other. Jimin is so caring and compassionate towards JK and it's so precious to have someone like that in your life! 💜
