Fell in love with this as the movie, when I was a child. Now I'm in love again with the radio broadcast. Thank you all for sharing this with us.

My mother told me she loved all these old radio shows when she was a kid. I started listening to them 30 years ago. I listened to War of the Worlds by Orson Welles & the Mercury players & I was hooked. My favorite is Fibber McGee. Love the Christmas shows, and also the Gielgud Sherlock Holmes. Our Miss Brooks 😊 So many early tv stars And stories were from radio. Sorry I missed that era but glad there are channels like this! Thanks for posting!

My parents would listen to the goldust hour I think it's called late at night on good old AM radio back in the early 70's when I was a little kid. They'd play 1940s music. I'd lay in bed at night when I was supposed to be sleeping :). I miss those times.

I have loved the movie for DECADES and watch it every chance I get. Frankly, i didn't expect too much from this adaptation and couldn't imagine Boyer in Rex Harrison's role, but this is SUPERB The adaptation is brilliant in the way it manages to preserve virtually all the greatest lines from the movie in this truncated version. I'm SO glad I decide to listen this sunny Saturday morning!

As a kid, I seldom missed one of the Lux Radio Theaters. They still have better graphics than TV. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying

I remember Maurice Chevalier I think he was called. His work here is really good. I always heard a British accent but his French accent is refreshing and he's funny as well.

He's French Charles Boyae I think is his name. Maurice Chevalier was also from that period😊

Do you know where I can find the script for this? I'd like to direct it for our Radio Hour!

Why not make yur own? Could be a truly GREAT adventure. I adapted the Wizard of Oz with the little girl across the street in the summer between fourth and fifth grade. This was 1951! Ah Wilderness! We wrote the script, bought the sheet music from the movie, brought it to our fifth grade teacher, commandeered the Music Teacher into playing the accompaniments, and soon had our entire class involved. We "starred" in the show, of course, but since "The Wizard' is definitely an ensemble piece, so there was pkenty for many to do both onstage and off. It was such as success, we had to repeat it for the PTA in the high school auditorium. A glorious experience never-to-be-forgotten. If WE could do it as children surely YOU could as well. TRY IT! GOOD LUCK!

It starts @2:01. Hello from Ireland, Monday, the 14th of November 2022. It is cold & blustery outstde & 2.42 pm. Here is my flag 🇮🇪. Tell me about your country, please. I'm just bored lol. It was on Facebook that I ever heard about this as a TV series. The best ghost in it was the Irish actor, Edward Mulhare. My, for such a tiny island nation that, was mostly impovrished we excel at having very creative people! Think of Colin Farrell, Michael Fassbender, Gabriel Byrne, Stuart Townsend, Jonathan Ryhs Meyers, Cillian Murphy, Pierce Brosnan, Chris O 'Dowd, Aiden Turner, Edward Mulhern, Richard Harris, Saoirse Ronan, Ruth Negga , Caitríona Balfe, Maureen O' Kara etc I forget most females. Then we've U2, The Cranberries, Enya, Hosier, The Dubliners & many more musicians!

Having seen the film so many times I was rather disappointed with the delivery of key lines in this radio version. Although they are fine actors Charles and Madeline seemed to just read there lines as if for the first time at an audition. As Capt Greg said "the Guts" needs to be in the story or it won't have the impact.
