A tip for you Mur-Dawg. If you pat the steak w/ a paper towel before adding the spices you get a better sear. Otherwise the moisture on the exterior has to steam off before the real good searing kicks in.

@@12982evets I agree the steak looked great. Nailed the temperature for ribeye, looked about 135 internal, and a solid sear as well. Was just saying it's a good practice to pat it down w/ a paper towel to remove the moisture for an even better sear (especially for leaner cuts like NY strip that don't develop a ribeye crust as easily).

Slimy to deal with but in my opinion pike are one of the better eating fresh water fish. Takes a little to fillet and get the ybone out but not bad at all.

Murda I love ya brotha but you gotta start cooking your beef in olive oil and finish it off basting it in butter the last 2 mins that way your get the nice sear from the oil without burning your butter and the delicious flavor of the butter and whatever herbs/seasonings from the quick basting at the end! Nothing but love homie!

I use that seasoning on a ton of food. It does have sugar in it so it will burn easy hense why your steak was a little crisp.

I was out on the same lake at the same time. I caught a perch, 2 huge rock bass, a crappie, a tullibee, a pike, and two walleye (17 & 19in). Only thing I didn't catch was a bass or sunfish lol. It was a great night for sure. The bite was awesome where I was in 22fow above the weeds.

Murry you definitely can not go wrong with any of Kosmo’s seasonings!!! I use quite a few different seasonings of his for different dishes!! But his SPG seasoning is definitely a go to seasoning also!!! I have done a bunch of smoked meats while using his seasonings and I have not found one that is bad yet!!! You should definitely try some of his other seasonings also and see what you think??? I promise you that you won’t be disappointed for sure!!!!
