Hi Tristan and crew. Love your videos and also great how much you love the vessel and your job. Can you please explain the different uniforms you and the crew wear throughout the day? Also, I heard that there is a special uniform the crew wear when the owner is on board to alert other boats -is this correct? You and your crew always look immaculate and behave very professionally. Crew tips included in the raffle tickets I think is great news. I would imagine that most ticket buyers are not from mega money and it was something I had thought about before buying. How do you compensate the crew for such a high level of service on average type earnings? Was good to know. I can relax a bit more if I were to win. Dream stuff for working stiffs.

I love being able to find the city you are in using Google Maps, satellite view. In this video, I believe you start out in Pucisca, just by finding corresponding landmarks. (Sorry. I'm a map nerd.)

Captain, I always love/look forward to your vlog and upbeat personality! Keep up the fantastic inside view of super yachting! BUT... lol I cringe every time I hear the following... "downstairs", "upstairs" and "driving the boat". In my yachting days we were taught early on to use the following terms instead... "down below", top side" and "piloting the boat/yacht/ship". I say this with the utmost respect, sir! Safe cruising!

How is the jacuzzi filled? Salt water or fresh water? If fresh water, that seems like an awful waste of water to fill it and empty it every time you arrive and leave.

The Hottub is that fresh or salt? When drain it is it overboard or a holding tank? Do you have a large tank of gasoline with a filler nozzle to top off the chase boat?

The chase boat slows down faster than AWOL. The only problem would be a current or waves coming from the rear.

Placing crew members astern in the unlikely event the chase boat bumped into AWOL. The heavier the vessel the longer it takes to stop. That chase boat pulling AWOL would need to watch its stern staying ahead of the larger vessel. This being the scenario to worry about.

Can be multiple reasons, lower maintenance for example but usually it's weight and stability. Often (with very large boats) the bottom is steel en the top fiberglass or aluminum. AWOL is all fiber/GRP.

iyc.com/yachts/awol/ Hull : GRP Superstructure: GRP up to a certain size of a yacht and if several of the same type should be produced GRP is less expensive. And of course not so heavy. Under the different regulations there is a maximum for the 'weight' : 500 GT. Tristan had a license, until sometime this year, to captain yachts of max 500 GT. Hence if you have a full steel hulled yacht with steel superstructure, the whole boat will have to smaller to be under 500GT. If you use GRP, the yacht can be longer, wider, higher : more space. And if a yacht is lighter : less fuel consumption. And fuel is one of the mayor costfactors, beside the salaries for the crew. But agree, if i would be able to have a yacht, I'd prefer a steel or aluminium hulled yacht.

Tristan, as a boater i very much enjoy your vlogs as i view them as a kind of travelogue in general. But....as a boater with a Day Skipper ticket with aspirations of a Fleming 65, can you give us more detail on the route planning you do, (or do you just call up the route on your screen). Do you manually plot your waypoints on a chart, or relying on your lat/long on the electronics? etc., etc. Can you show what vhf calls you make prior to departure and arrival to either the harbour master or marina control. Do you manually route plan the Croatian islands and rivers beforehand? If so, how? I get the impression you have an office in Malta doing all your mooring bookings for you in advance. The privateer would get the shock of his life if he mooried in Sardinia and received a E1000 bill for the priviledge. Can you refer if possible to what a private cruiser would have to do to get into some of these places please. (You can ignore Monaco, too noisey!!!). It is our dream to cruise the Med in retirement. Disney makes fair money selling us photographs or in some cases videos showing our adventure at their theme parks. Might be a win-win for both the owner and you if that were actually an offering on the charter package. I would think some guests might love videos at least from a distance showing them enjoying all of the toys. Some of course are out there for complete and total privacy and that's great as well. You never know.

Tristan, in one of the previous videos you said when leaving the Quayside the Stern of the Boat should move away from the Quay first then the Bow. But on this video it looks like Awol left Bow first, can you explain please. Cheers

That was just a recommendation for when the situation allows leaving the dock astern, not some sort of rule. At sea, there are always different situations and regarding the type of boat and propulsion, wind, current, available space around and so on you make a decision how to leave the dock.
