"친구 몇 명이랑 단편영화를 제작하는 작은 프로젝트를 시작했어요. 제 친구 ‘Kenny’가 몇 달 전에 아주 재밌는 이야깃거리를 들려줬는데 그때 시작됐어요. 그래서 각본에 관해서는 걔가 알아서 할거예요. 촬영이나 편집과 같은 기술적인 부분은 제가 담당할거고요. 배우 캐스팅은, 제 친구 한즈한테 다른 친구가 있는데 예전에 영화학교에 다녔어서 그를 통해 배우 지망생들을 만날 수 있을 것 같대요."

"Some friends and I have set out on a little project to create a short film. It all began when my friend Kenny came to me a few months ago with a very interesting idea for a story. So, as far as the writing is concerned, he’s got things covered. I'll be handling the technical side of things like filming and editing. In terms of casting actors, my other friend Hans is friends with this other guy who used to go to film school so he thinks he can get in touch with some aspiring actors and actresses through him."

Me and my two sons will be going on a road trip across America next month. We've been talking about this for quite some time and we are finally going to do it. As far as the logistics are concerned, my #1 son will be in charge of making the hotel reservations and renting a minivan. My #2 son will be handling the entertainment side of things like finding out places to visit and popular restaurants to eat at. I don't have to do too much, although in terms of finances, I will be paying for most of the expenses.

~, Hanz is friends with this other guy who used to go to film school, so ~ 이 문장에서 is friends with 가 누구누구와 친구이다 라는 뜻의 숙어?같은 건가요? 주어는 Hanz라는 사람 한명인데 is a friend가 아닌 is friends를 쓰는게 특이한 표현같네요. 여기에 a friend를 쓰면 어색할까요?

Some friends and I have set out on a little project to raise money for charity. It all began when my friend Kenny came to me a few months ago with a very touching TV show. So, he'll be handling the financial side of things. As far as the planning is concerned, I've got things covered. And in terms of PR, my other friend Hanz is friends with this other guy who used to work at a marketing company so he thinks that he can get in touch with some people who are interested in this project through him.

as well as, as far as, as long as 에 대해서 좀더 구체적으로 다뤄주실수 있으면 너무 감사하겠어요.ㅎㅎ 머리로 들으면 이해가 바로 되는것 같지만, 입으로 뱉어내는데는 쉽게 잘 안나와서요ㅠ

as far as ~ concerned 들리는 소리가 너무 익숙해서 기억을 더듬다보니 프렌즈 시즌 1, 에피소드 1 에 나오는 대사여서 그랬네요. ㅋㅋ That's because as far as my parents are concerned Ross can do no wrong. 한글자막 " 그야 우리 부모님에게 로스는 완벽한 사람이니까"

My other friend Hanz is friends with this other guy who~가 어떻게 내 친구 Hanz한테 다른 친구가 있는데로 해석이 되는 건가요? 여기서 with는 어떻게 해석이 되나요? With 대신 of를 쓰면 안되나요?

"A is friends with B" 라고 함으로써 A가 B와 친구 사이임을 나타내는 표현이라서 'with'를 'of'로 대체할 수는 없습니다. 직역: '한즈'(A)는 이렇고 저런 사람(와) 친구 사이이다.' 라고 의역: '한즈'(A)한테 친구(B)가 있는데 그 사람은 이렇고 저런 사람이다.

임종진 내 다른 친구인 Hanz가 뒤의 this other guy who~와 친구라는 의미로 생각하시면 될 것 같아요. 그래서 My other friend Hanz is friends with this other guy 가 내 다른 친구 Hanz는 이 다른 친구와 친구 사이다. 라고 해석이 될 것 같아요!

When it comes to 만 썼는데 좀 더 다양하게 쓸것같아요. So as far as filiming and editing concerned, you will get things covered! 찍고 편집하는것에 대해서 선생님은 알아서 잘할꺼예요! ALSO In terms of uploading English video, you will do well!! 영어 비디오올리는문제에서두 잘할꺼예요!!

he has got things covered의 문장구성이 조금 궁금합니다. 사역에서 배웠던 get pp가 쓰였다고보면되는건가요? 그렇다면 he has gotten things covered가 아니라 got이라고 쓰인이유가 따로있을까요?? 그것도아니면 got things라는게 아예 한 단어로서 쓰여서 has something pp의 문장구성이 되는건가요?

When it comes to "-side of things", can I use aspect or facet interchangeably with the word, side? Also, I don't know precisely when to use the phrases like in terms of-, as for/to-, when it comes to-, as far as - is concerned etc. Is there a distinct difference in usage/nuance or all sort of subtle? Thanks a lot!

When it comes to the technical side of things... When it comes to the technical aspect of things... 둘다 쓸수있습니다. 하지만 제 개인적 생각에 things가 informal하기 때문에 side가 조금더 어울립니다. facet은 보통 자주않쓰이는 단어인데, multi-faceted 라고는 쓰임니다. -She can sing, dance and play the piano. Her talents are multi-faceted. -Mary was showing off her brand new engagement ring which beautifully reflected the sunlight off its multi-faceted surface. 언제 어느 phrase를 써야한다는 rule은 없고요, 원어민 대화나, TV, 책등을 통해 familiarize yourself 하면 실력이 향상됩니다.

맞아요. 그런데 as far as를 1:1 뜻으로 외우시면 해석에 제한적일 수 있어요. 문맥속에서 자연스럽게 접근하시는게 더 편하실거에요 🙂

But unfortunately, his health is not so good. -As far as Mom is concerned, her dream vacation is to go on a Mediterranean cruise. as far as I know 는 내가 알고있는 범위안에선 이란 뜻입니다. -As far as I know, Jack will be graduating from college next June. -As far as I know, all Korean men must serve in military for two years.

선생님께서 "As for my girlfriend, she eat everyhning well." 이런 경우에 "내 여자 친구는 다 잘 먹어"라고 해석 할 수 있잖아요? 선생님 혹시 이것도 가능한지요? "As for me, I eat everything well" 나 같은 경우에는, 다 잘 먹어" 이렇게요!

질문있어요! my other friend Hanz is “friends” with.. 여기서 단수가 아니라 복수로 friends가 온 이유는 뭔가요?🤔 앞에 동사도 is고 뒤에도 one guy로 받는데 복수가 맞는 건가요? ㅠㅠ 항상 잘 보고 있어요 감사해요!

My other friends Hanz가 뒤에 나오는 this other guy와 친구 사이다 라는 것을 의미해서 My other friends Hanz is friends with this other guy(영화학교에 다녔던 그 친구)로 문장이 구성된 것 같아요. ^^ 뒤의 who~ 부분은 this other guy의 부연 설명을 하는 관계대명사 절이구요!

동사 have로 사용하시려면 have a friend who~~이렇게 나아가시면 되는데 be friends with someone who ~~~ 를 사용해도 되고 두개의 뜻 차이는 별로 없어요. 어감차이만 있고 have a friend who : ~ 인 친구가 있다 Be friends with someone who : ~인 사람과 친구사이다.
