A GAUGE 1 EXTRAVAGANZA IN KENT

This is the largest Gauge 1 meeting i have ever been too, The extensive Track operates like a real Railway with operating Signals and the lines have block system warning sirens that if a Train is at a certain part of the line, this means up to 4 trains can operate at any one time, the drivers have to stay with thier loco looking for a clear way ahead ! , If you look carefully you can just see a train going though a lattice bridge over the pond followed by the watchful eye of its owner, Also in attendance was Traders and the Gauge 1 tinplate group , the Invicta portable track was also set up , Many thanks to Adam , Stuart and everyone else involved for a superb Weekend 2nd to 3rd of july 2016

What a great exhibition!! So realistic and so well made. The people who own these trains must be fit , chasing them around all day. Top video thanks for allowing me to watch it

Are these live steamers digitally controlled ? Or is there a live track for control ?

They are all Manual control except sometimes a few have radio control fitted to the locos ,No live track

To eliminate those annoying beeping "Shop Door" alarms, I've an idea Graham: What about suggesting to the folks (the "Laurels" I believe it is?) who sponsor this GTG at their track, hire electronics wizard and G1MRA Member Mr. Ralph Bagnall-Wild to devise an onboard and transferable (as in from one loco to another) limited range Television camera and transmitter with handheld and carried screens with approaching signal status monitors? In this way the operator of a running loco may observe the signal's indication in real time from the vantage point of his loco, as displayed on his hand held screen. All while constantly being able to check on the approaching signal's indication using this same inordinately simple to devise device (for Mr. Bagnall-Wild that is). It's all "Off the shelf" type of engineering you understand so no doubt a simple task for the Group's resident electrical "Wonderman". Ahem.

Many Thanks Paul for your Suggestions i will pass them on at the next meeting , I did not realise how annoying those beeping alarms were until i played my video back ! i suppose as there was so much going on that day i did not take much notice , perhaps also the good old signal bells could be used;) Best regards Graham
