A Lyft driver is questioning a company policy after he said a false DUI claim from a passenger cost him hundreds of dollars in lost wages.

You can't sue a passenger they won't reveal to you. Personally I think Lyft has a lot to do with it as well. They call themselves checking drivers so they do not get too confident as independent contractors. It's a power play meanwhile drivers lose thousands of dollars...

Kyle Empsall All the more reason a Union needs to be formed, so Lying riders or Lyft/Uber can’t just come up with reasons to deactivate drivers.

Exact same thing just happened to me. I refused to allow 6 people with no car seat pile into my 4 passenger vehicle. I contacted Lyft about this and the next day I was deactivated. Days later still not able to work because this guy called Lyft and said I was intoxicated. All because I refused to allow them to break safety policy/law and endanger their child because they didn’t have car seat and too many passengers for my vehicle. Two years driving, thousands of rides, and 5* rating, all meant nothing, as they took this riders lie as the truth.

This is happening too often to innocent drivers. My account was deactivated because a rider stated that she was sexually assaulted by a male driver, I am a 48 year old female. I tried to plea my case with Lyft to inform them that this was a false claim. They just blew me off as if I was actually a criminal, or as if I actually let someone else drive my car and committed this violent crime. I understand that these are very serious accusations, but I feel as if they are too worried about being sued rather than getting down to the truth. Now, I am unable to drive for Uber because LYFT reported my name to some third party service as a violator......this has been a total nightmare. I want my name cleared!!!!

This is why have a dash cam I think we should have more responsibility than this. Just our Uber be able to just let us go over false deactivation because this is ridiculous. The government needs to step in if the taxi driver strong you call the cops oh you just say something on the app I don’t think it’s right that anybody could say anything without any proof and you get fired.

A similiar incident happened to me several months ago..."you are guilty until proven innocent on their time table of several weeks after app was disabled.........pretty sad.

With video, the Driver could have gone to the News with Proof like the Uber Driver who was assaulted by the Doctor had proof. The Uber Driver who had a passenger cancel the ride while taking her home had proof of the incident. He had a Dash Cam and he posted the video on youtube. Had the Driver had a Dash Cam, he could have posted the video as proof and the video may have gone VIRAL. Viewers would have loved to see the passenger going off. The Driver needed to be there not arguing but trying to reason with an unruly passenger. If she filed a False complaint the posted VIRAL Video would force the hand of Uber and deactivate the passenger for filing a false complaint. He could then turn around and sue her for Defamation using the video as proof the passenger lied on him to Uber trying to get him fired. Remember the Woman who accused the Uber Driver of Sexual Assault? He was arrested and while in jail he remember he had recorded it all on his cell phone. The Police and the District Attorney reviewed the video and the guy was released from jail with all charges dismissed against him. The Woman is now facing charges for filing False Police Report. Had he remembered sooner he would not had been arrested. Remember the Driver with the Women refusing to pay and called the Police saying he had sexually Assaulted them? He had a Dash Cam and played the video to the Police and was NOT ARRESTED. Dash Cams have saved people asses.

Charles Anthony Uber/Lyft never really ban riders, as they just sign up under different names and these platforms don’t verify anything, other than a reliable payment method. That’s why you go to pick up someone and there’s no photo to identify them by and person only uses one initial for their account name.

Customer attack me on lyft i kicked her out and both of us called 911 she was not there when they arrived i was Customer lied and said i was drunk or under some kind of influence i told them i spoke with officers they would have arrested me then they said i used my car as a weapon chased her down ran her over dragged her down the street i told them i would have been arrested and she would have been there when cops arrived then and an ambulance would have been involved not only that i had a 2024 smart electric car even if a cat was in front of car it wouldn't move till i was out of way of car

Unless the media gets involved companies don't care what they do to you, bcoz we are all just one voiceless person in their eyes. I used to sell on eBay until a buyer wore, DAMAGED, and returned a coverup, even though I have a no return policy. I showed eBay before and after pictures and they didn't care. Ebay told me I should be happy she returned the item to me, bcoz she could have kept it and her money too. They didn't care. I stopped selling on there for my own protection.

I received a False Complaint from a passenger. I immediately sent in the Dash Cam Video and it put the kibosh on it and I am still driving. The vast majority of my passengers see the dash cam and it put's the kibosh on all complaints. I now have a Body Cam which I wear when out of the car getting bags in and out of the trunk of my car. I wear it to document I never said anything inappropriate and was not drunk. I am probably the only Driver who went this far but I have put the kibosh on all False Complaints.

The mistake the Driver made was as soon as the ride ended to put the kibosh on it by putting a preemptive strike on it all. With Lyft as soon as the ride is over and if I had a bad passenger, I immediately fire off an email to Lyft reporting the incident. I have the video ready to send to put the kibosh on any complaint before it is even made against me. I strike first. This Driver should have struck first by reporting the incident and had a dash camera to document the heated argument. He could have presented the video the very next day as proof of what happened. Keep in mind it is best to not argue but to let the passenger rant and go off while you remain silent. That shows RESTRAINT and the passenger was the AGGRESSOR. I let them rant and curse as the video rolls on and on showing I did nothing wrong. A Dash Cam has saved my ass to many times. The majority do not or cannot afford the expenditure. The majority see no value or worth in buying a Dash Cam until after something bad has happened. It is then Dam it, I should have gotten a Dash Cam. In a vehicle accident a Dash Cam shows who was at fault. I see too many Lyft and Uber Drivers driving like maniacs so a Dash Cam would hang them in an accident.

Charles Anthony I fired off that email right after I refused a guy to let a group of people overload my vehicle and guy didn’t even have child seat for small child. Next morning I was deactivated by email under a filed false report of being intoxicated. I advised Lyft I don’t drink or smoke at all.....Lyft response.....sorry nothing we can do.

My leg joints caught since driving continuously for 5 hours I was stretching my leg lifting straight. My passenger reported it as some sexual act uncomfortable I keep hands there she can’t even see my hands and I didn’t even do that I was having hands on steering just lift my butt and trying to make leg straight to release the nerve caught...Lyft deactivated my account right away and I have 5* and I’m driving since 1.2years have 2300 rides almost..
