This is very helpful ,thanks. Building a 390 444stroker. First Build ever, so. With the roller lifters. , I need a dummy lifter to set it up so there's no play/ lash ?

Had a customer that I built a nice little 427 small block Ford for call me after he did a oil change and told me the oil pressure dropped to 20 psi when he was priming the engine just to find out the chuck on his drill was loose 😳 so I know what you mean ...

Most people skip the skip the put it together/take it apart ck it do it again,& yet again , please mention how how many time it is done to get it RIGHT. (generally) Think you are best at Checking the builds..

The 444 stroker kit for the fe im building has scat forged steel crank ,aluminum forged mahl pistions, edelbrock performer rpm heads, and rpm intake , comp thumpn cam , hydrolic roller lifters, I am worried about valve to pistion clearance tho ,,,,, waiting on the block still to come back, any input would be helpful

Does using the push rods for oiling the top end add any stiffness to pushrod? If so does it offset the weight gains for stiffness gains?

You never worry about pushrod weight. It's inconsequential.
