This is a video for every lyme patient, every M.E. patient, every doctor, lyme specialist, scientist, and loved ones of people suffering
Please watch to the end, this is really important to me.
More needs to be done. It will only happen if we make it happen
The current CDC and NHS stance is that lyme bacteria most likely cannot persist once treated with antibiotics, and that all the testing is adequate
For your ease here are some links to the relevant studies which show lyme can suppress antibodies, that tests are ineffective, and how lyme can survive after courses of antibiotics
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26...
"Antibiotic therapy may abrogate the antibody response to the infection as shown in our patients. B. burgdorferi may persist as shown by positive culture in MKP-medium; patients may have subclinical or clinical disease without diagnostic antibody titers to B. burgdorferi. We conclude that early stage of the disease as well as chronic Lyme disease with persistence of B. burgdorferi after antibiotic therapy cannot be excluded when the serum is negative for antibodies against B. burgdorferi."
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19...
In one patient Borrelia burgdorferi was isolated from the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) 7.5 months after ceftriaxone therapy
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29...
")A 54-year-old man had intermittent evening fever, arthralgia, transient erythematous macular eruption on the skin, and splenomegaly of two year's duration. Immunofluorescence tests for Borrelia burgdorferi serum antibodies had positive results, but G-penicillin treatment was ineffective. Splenectomy with lymph node biopsy was performed to rule out lymphoproliferative disorders. Borrelia-like spirochetes were identified histologically in the spleen; this finding was consistent with persistence of B. burgdorferi organisms in inner organs in chronic Lyme disease."
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16...
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16...
If TLR5 is downregulated then the immune system has a difficult time creating antibodies against the bacterial flagella .
and again
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/artic...
"The extensive antigentic shifting of B burgdoferi allows evasion of immune response within even a single host individual."
On pet websites it is common knowledge that lyme can persist after courses of antibiotics and so why is it so out of the questions for it to do so in humans?
www.peteducation.com/article.c...
Lyme persistence shown here in monkeys following antibiotic treatment
journals.plos.org/plosone/arti...
This paper demonstrating how the immune system can be left with lasting damage even after the initial causitive factor is removed
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26...
"How infection can persist and even amplify even when infections have cleared or when biotoxin exposure has ceased"
There are countless more papers, if you look, you will find them. The medical community needs to be looking at them. Lyme doctors need to be looking at them. Knowledge is power so study these, because if you're sick, your life does depend on it.

I got bit by a tick in my early 20s. Being from the midwest USA (Iowa) no one thought anything of it. A few months after the tick bite I was standing at work and it felt like pee was running down my legs. The feeling was so pronounced that I went into the restroom to see if I actually peed myself and there was nothing. This happened many times over the next couple months. Then all of a sudden I started having panic attacks and would have to leave work. The anxiety was terrible and so bad I couldn't sleep. This was followed by a deep clinical depression. I was treated with a serotonin re-uptake inhibitor. My symptoms went away and I stayed on those meds for years. I did get every nasty bug that was going around though as though my immune system just bailed on me. Fast forward to my 30s. I got sick with some kind of upper respiratory illness and never fully recovered. The fatigue was horrible so and the light sensitivity was almost unbearable and the brain fog was debilitating. I remember many times telling God he could take me in my sleep and I would be okay with it. Doctors would do blood tests and just shrug their shoulders and tell me I was fine....ugh maybe chronic fatigue syndrome. I didn't look ill so everyone thought I was a malingerer. I finally quit caring what ever the f*ck anyone else thought. I would have periods of remission some short lived and a few longer periods that would last a few months. I'm almost 70 now and in the last few years I developed some autoimmune system illnesses that the doctors could actually diagnose. Sjogrens and now Lipodermatosclerosis. After hearing your music and your story I got to thinking maybe it was that tick.

There are many of us standing in solidarity with you. Twenty years in and four times bitten, each time with co-infections, I applaud you for stepping up and raising Lyme awareness. Together we can make a difference. I admire your courage and wish you all the best in finding solutions to help you towards better health.

I know how frustrating that must be. I was misdiagnosed for years until a simple blood test revealed I was a diabetic. I went four years dizzy, lethargic, double vision. The doctor I had never checked my sugar level and I was damn near in a coma before someone thought to check it. I was lucky that there was an answer. Hang in there Ren. Keep posting.

I love how your adhd probably massively helped you hyperfocus on finding treatment. You sound so knowledgeable when you talk about lyme. Thank you for never giving up Ren. I struggle with allergic inflamation (asthma, nasal polyps, eusation tube dysfunction, constant eardrum ruptures, vocal chord dysfunction, joint pain) and I've been researching loads and trying to persuade various specialists to try different things but what I've found is that the ENT specialist only wants to talk about the nasal polyps the asthma specialist only wants to talk about treating asthma and they dont want to talk to each other or consider that it might all be related. And they especially don't want to talk about the fact that i was perfectly healthy prior to having a flu vaccine 5 years ago and then a week later getting a cat. I still believe there must be a cause to all this inflamation but without knowing what I'm fighting it becomes a case of stabbing in the dark. Still, I'll keep stabbing. Your story is helping.

I had Lyme, verified through multiple blood tests... and it took a few years to get to 80% better. Now, its mainly extreme fatigue that comes and goes. Main thing that has helped me is meditation, a positive mind can make a huge difference on the body's state. Get well!

Hi. Your story really touched me. I'm very glad that the diagnosis was made and the treatment prescribed. I am worried about the situation with Lyme's illness in the world. 3 years ago 2 ticks bite me, but I did not ask for help. There were no symptoms, and a few years later, in parallel with complex events in life, neurological symptoms (panic attacks, anxiety, depression) developed. My problems with the organs of the gastrointestinal tract worsened, but I had them even before the tick bite. I have chronic pain in my legs and joints, although rheumatic tests are normal. I have chronic fatigue syndrome, but I have chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract without a definite diagnosis. Back pains are not expressed, but there are changes in the spine (I'm 23 years old). So, my situation is incredibly confusing. What is the likelihood of a chronic Lyme disease in my case? Should I pass all the necessary tests? Thank!

Hey there! I don't think he uses this channel anymore, if you wanna contact Ren himself I'd suggest checking out his Instagram. I'm not really an expert myself, but from what I know it is rather unlikely that you get lyme disease from tick bites and show no visible reaction. I was also bitten by ticks a few times and we always made sure to remove them immediately and then mark the place with a little circle, to check that it wouldn't turn red over the next few weeks, in which case we would've visited a doctor. But of course I don't know your exact situation and as I said, I'm not an expert either. Also it might be slightly different depending on where you live, for example here in Germany the risks for getting lyme by a tick bite are generally rather low. Anyways, I hope you'll do better soon! I believe you can do it! 💛

Hey there! I don't think he uses this channel anymore, if you wanna get in contact with Ren himself I'd suggest checking out his Instagram. However from what I know, he's actually a lot better now. He still has some mental health problems, but if I'm not mistaken he fully recovered from lyme and is now back to pursuing his dreams. Hope this answered some of your questions! Anyways, have a nice day! You have a great taste in music! 😌💛
