How about getting the camera back far enough to the point you can actually see the crowd, the smoke, the surrounding buildings etc. just viewing smoke is a dead loss... i could light a dozen car tyres on fire if your just wanting to film smoke... there's no perspective, no scale. Get with it for christ sake!!!
