Fun fact, wizards ruling on Kardur states any creatures that enter after Kardur still take his effect of must attack if able. You can check that on Gatherer

Sefris does not trigger on herself. Her trigger is put on the stack when the card hits the graveyard, not when it dies, so she has to still be on the battlefield in order for her ability to trigger. Here's an extract of her Gatherer rulings : "Sefris of the Hidden Ways must be on the battlefield for its first ability to trigger. It does not trigger when Sefris goes to the graveyard from the battlefield, even if other creature cards also went to the graveyard at the same time. (2021-09-24)"

Maddening hex cannot move onto its controller because you're not an opponent of yourself (at least not in mtg) thus that part does nothing and it simply stays attached to your only opponent.

No it can be attach to its controller, it says Enchant *player* not target opponent and you opponent triggers the bottom text not its controler every time per say.

@@themindslaver2857 completely wrong, control of maddening hex is always whoever put it into play. Control of the effect doesn't change based on who it is enchanting it is always the controller of maddening hex and thus the curse cannot pick it's controller.

Just a few play errors over on Sefris, she doesn’t trigger herself when dying to dungeon delve, and at 34:30 she shouldn’t have been able to venture twice off of two death triggers in the same turn.

In the game someone said “goaded creatures can’t attack planeswalkers”, but from my understanding they definitely can.

Goad puts two requirements on the creature. One is to attack, and the other is to attack an opponent of the player who goaded it. It has to fulfill as many requirements as possible. So it can only attack a planeswalker (or the player who goaded it) if it can't attack another opponent (because there aren't any or they all have effects preventing it from attacking them), or if there are additional requirements, like from Gideon Jura.

Fun fact: even Gatherer rulings got Kardur wrong. Kardur's ability clearly states "A PLAYER OTHER THAN YOU IF ABLE". Like goading, this means they can't attack planeswalkers as long as there's a player they can attack. However, in the rulings, it says they can attack planeswalkers.

Maybe it was wrong at one point, but at the moment it says: "If a creature an opponent controls doesn’t qualify for any of the above exceptions and can attack, it must attack a player other than you if able. If the creature can’t attack any of those players, or if there are no such players, it must attack you or an opposing planeswalker. (2021-02-05)" This means it can't attack a planeswalker unless it can't attack another opponent or there are additional requirements, like from Gideon Jura.

Kardur does goad creatures with haste. It "goads" all players. So since it goads players any creature that the player controls has to attack. I can link the ruling too if you need.

I cranked my elbow really bad several times and it literally hurt to carry anything for a couple years but that has all healed up. around 25 my knees started popping whenever I leaned over.... anyway.... thats life.

Stuff only returns if it was under their control due to a continuous effect. If it’s a one off effect (like wishclaw) then they are just exiled.

The wishclaw talisman would have just been exiled and not returned. The reason this is, is that when a player loses any continuous effects they control end, and that is where permanents they stole would be returned. However this applies to continuous effects, which wishclaw is not. Wishclaw is a one off effect. It just happens and the effect ends once the new player has it. Continuous effects would be stuff like act of treason that are conditional. If you reanimate a creature it gets exiled when you lose. But if you animate dead a creature it goes back to its owners grave. If an effect just gives control and that’s it, then exiled. If it gives control “while” “until”, etc then it goes to last zone.

(Copying this from another comment thread) I believe this is wrong because all control-changing effects are continuous effects. This doesn't seem to be explicitly stated in the CR, but it's implied by the fact that they have their own layer: 613.1b. Layer 2: Control-changing effects are applied. and also these rules: 611.2c. If a continuous effect generated by the resolution of a spell or ability modifies the characteristics or changes the controller of any objects, the set of objects it affects is determined when that continuous effect begins. After that point, the set won't change. (Note that this works differently than a continuous effect from a static ability.) A continuous effect generated by the resolution of a spell or ability that doesn't modify the characteristics or change the controller of any objects modifies the rules of the game, so it can affect objects that weren't affected when that continuous effect began. If a single continuous effect has parts that modify the characteristics or changes the controller of any objects and other parts that don't, the set of objects each part applies to is determined independently. 611.2a. A continuous effect generated by the resolution of a spell or ability lasts as long as stated by the spell or ability creating it (such as "until end of turn"). If no duration is stated, it lasts until the end of the game. 800.4c. If an effect that gives a player still in the game control of an object ends, there is no other effect giving control of that object to another player in the game, and the player who controlled that object by default has left the game, the object is exiled. This is not a state-based action. It happens as soon as the control-changing effect ends. 610.1. A one-shot effect does something just once and doesn't have a duration. Examples include dealing damage, destroying a permanent, creating a token, and moving an object from one zone to another. If there were one-shot control-changing effects, they wouldn't interact properly with the layer system and continuous control-changing effects. So effects like Wishclaw Talisman and Dominate are continuous effects with unlimited duration and they do stop applying if the player they're giving control to leaves the game.

@@NMS127 nothing in there implies that control changing effects are continuous by nature, just that they can be. Control changing effects are by their nature just changing of zones. They go from one field to another. Most of them are continuous, but not all are.

I love Sefris! To bad she doesn't trigger venture when you put herself in the bin.. she needs to see the creature enter the bin and Sefris isn't on the battlefield when she is hitting the bin herself. See the rules!

so you probably know this by now, but anything someone else owns that is controlled by a player that dies is exiled, in this instance aiden had shroom's wishclaw talisman, it would not have gone to foley once he died, instead it would be removed from play completely.

Nope. It goes back to it's previous user. Described in the cards rulings per 04.10.2019 (it's release): "You choose which opponent gains control of Wishclaw Talisman while its ability is resolving. If that player later leaves the game, you regain control of Wishclaw Talisman."

Wouldn't the hostage taker and viscera seer have died in turn 5. The trigger to return the enchantment happens at the beginning of the endstep, meaning everything is -3/-3 then you go to clean up which would have removed the -1/-1 effect, but both Hostage Taker and viscera seer would have died on the End Step before cleanup

As someone just putting in the order for pieces for a lynde deck, I'm so glad you did all those curses on yourself. I somehow hadn't thought of that. Especially the curse of misfortunes. This deck is going to be alot spicier than intended. So much fun

At first I was like: WTH ON HIMSELF? HELL DIE SUPERFAST! Then the rest just left him doing his thing getting all these cards with the draw effects to grow incredibly dangerous. That was amazing to see because if you would just your opponents with them you would get this huge target on your back probably. Sweet way to win the game! Very confusing tho all those triggers 🙈

I think he did lyndes trigger incorrectly at 19:15 when she's passes curses the opponent eats the upkeep triggers not you if you pass it on, "enchanted players upkeep" not "target player" goes on the stack but as that resolves you are no longer the enchanted player

If a control effect ends because a player left the game, the permanent goes to the previous controller, so yes, the Talisman goes back to Foley.

That is not actually correct. This would only be the case if wishclaw was a continuous effect, which it is not. The talisman is simply given, unconditionally. There is no effect that keeps it there, thus it is just exiled.

@@semperignotus No. It doesn't matter if the control-changing effect is continuous, permanent or whatever. It just ends. The permanent is only exiled if it was cast or put on the battlefield by that player.
