I feel like most of the regions so far open with a bow character. Venti for Mondstat, Childe for Liyue, Tighnari for Sumeru and Liney for this region.

Technically you could say Amber for Monstadt. Can’t remember if it was Collei or Tighnari we saw first for sumeru also. I wasn’t really paying attention

Seeing vermillion 4pc being viable on another chara other than xiao is pretty interesting :0 seems like the set might be good for other units too if there’s a pattern with charas losing hp for skills/ults

Hmm, only issue is it's only activated 16 seconds after burst. And you lose the buff when you switch character. So it's still a little clunky if you want to burst, skill, switch to bennett for buffs.

Ye but some of those charas will not scale of atk, and the new set is made for them really anyway

@@tripplesouthI think in the case of Vermillion it'll be more like: Burst, CA (2-3), Skill. You'd use Bennet first though, and then do that rotation.

@@raurisaurus5057 isn't that only up to 2 charge attacks gaining benefit of the 1 and 2 stacks of the attack buffs? And the skill gaining benefit of 3 buff stacks and then nothing more? Still feels a bit clunky, even in best scenario.

As someone who likes to main tighnari, his gameplay tempted me since his rotations seem easy enough without losing dmg when swapping. But i'm gonna stay strong and go for the other fontaine characters i wanted and maybe get him on his rerun. Nevetheless he seems like a great character to start the fontaine patch and a really f2p friendly banner to pull for! Thanks for the video Sevy!

I am also a big fan of Tignari and it made me want to get Linney for this very thing. I already got it together with his signature weapon and I can say that if it catches your attention it is a pretty strong option, currently with a set of combined artifacts (because I haven't farmed theirs yet) it manages to do 90k damage per charged shot, I estimate that with a coherent set of artifacts will manage to reach 120k per charged shot. It really is a great option and I think it's totally worth it c: (sorry if it's not well understood, use a translator)

I didn't actually have much interest in him initially, I simply wanted to pull for his sister and get some of her cons cause I love anemo. Then I somehow got a c2 Lyney in two consecutive 10 pulls. So I kinda feel compelled to build him as best I can and use him properly. Thankfully the more I look into him the more fun he seems to be. I look forward to when I can finally finish leveling him.

Used my guaranteed for him and having a blast(pun intended.) I don’t really like Ganyus play style but Lyneys is so fun to me plus I love the magician design as well and his damage is so refreshing compared to some units hoyo have been putting out that require cons to even be viable!

@@jazzymare it was a fair question. I can only think of Faruzan who gets a significant amount of increase from C6 compared with C0. But even then she is still viable, not borderline unplayable. And it's already been established that 4 stars need to unlock their C6 to reach their max potential. And constellations for 5-star units are generally viewed as QoL improvements and boosts to their personal damage. And they were using Lyney for comparison which is a 5-star. So I assumed the question was categorically for 5 stars units.

I was in love with Lyney ever since I saw the Teyvat trailer, so when I lost my 50/50 on Kazuha banner, I saved it for him. Was super lucky to get his weapon too, and I am impressed at his dmg even at c0.

So…my kids play and I just joined them in this game cause I like playing and interacting with my kids in what they are interested in. Well, I got Lyney in my first 10 pull and my kids freaked out. It’s only over the last week of learning the game that I realize just how rare that would be. But he is really fun to play. Thanks for the guide!

Lyney’s builds remind me of the Nilou bloom teams. There is great damage, but only if you build the whole team to support his passives. I see this as a great way for Mihoyo to make pyro DPS more relevant, for a while at least. Since pyro is best against hydro, he that could be a huge help in Fontaine.

Unlike Nilou, Lyney's kit isn't entirely ruined if your team elements don't fit. Nilou's special cores don't work at all if you don't follow the hydro+dendro team, but you can run 2 or 1 pyro and Lyney will still work about the same.

Thanks! Now I can't decide to pull on weapon banner or not (I won't build pity anyway). The only 5* weapon from weapon banner I have is Aqua Simulacra, but Ganyu, Yelan & Tighnari are all fighting for it. Either another one or The Magical... would be useful, especially I need to use bow characters in both Spiral Abyss Teams. At the other side, I don't have Childe and there are more Fountaine characters coming...

I was guaranteed and decided to pull for Lyney, he came home at 77 pity so it's not too bad. 😅 I'm still trying to pull for his weapon (and i very rarely pull in weapon banner) so it's taking a while-i wouldn't be opposed to getting aqua simulacra for my yelan though. 😂 Lyney's borrowing Ganyu's amos bow for now, so here's to wishing everyone good pulls with their primos! ❤

Pulled him for my boys collection and being a local specialty radar for future husbandos. I am the ‘mobile player’ so ZL daddy is there. 😂😂😂 I haven’t farm the new artifacts so he is using Ganyu’s hand me down Wanderer set but I’m quite surprise to see quite big numbers too despite the redundant EM.

I've been enjoying using Lyney. the only problem is i only use characters i like so no Bennet or Xiangling, but he still does a ton of damage even without them.

I actually did like his playstyle. I had fun trying him out in the character trial, and I'm honestly a little tempted to pull for him just for his passive talent for locating Fontaine specialties. However, I'd already long since planned to save up for C1 Yelan, and I've got her! So Lyney will have to wait for a later time. Hopefully, another Fontaine character, preferably a 4 star, will be released with the same passive. I find it unfair to lock it behind a limited 5 star character like they did with Klee, and I was relieved when Mika dropped.

that is not bad as long as you mix in some NAs to strengthen Thoma;s shield (but this could feel clunky), if you really feel like you need shielding. If you have yanfei at c4 or higher she can also shield and give a thrilling tales buff. Or if you want to use Xiangling and Bennett you can use Zhongli with Archaic petra set it is a very solid way to give an elemental damage boost plus Zhongli's shield resistance shred if you have him, it is not VV/Kazuha level but it will be good enough.

The c1 is only for the first CA of each rotation not all of them! And reverse Melt is a doable team comp where Rosaria/kaeya/Layla (not all 3, keep bennett) are the one melting and Lyney is the one keeping the pyro aura on the enemies

idk, i think lyney xiangling, kokomi and lynette would make a good sibbling vape team. you can use kokomis skill, swirl its water with lynettes taunt to keep mobs in, and apply xianglings fire for extra fire application while you spam your burst into the mix, actually i would sub xiangling for bennet since your outside the healing circle in this

OMG. I have been debating Lyney vs waiting for Yoimiya rerun, as I have strong DPS in every other element. My pyro is limited to Bennet and Xiangling. I took 100 wishes and 17 pity (got Yelan con right at the start of the patch). I got him early and had spare wishes, so thought I'd try my luck on the weapons banner (didn't know my pity, as it's been a long long time since I wished on a weapon). Got Aqua and STILL have 20 wishes left! 😱 This is my luck for the whole of Fontaine 😂 Time to start living in domains ...got a whole new set to grind for, books for talents and weapon mats. My name is Lynn. I had just decided I wouldn’t spend more money on primos for characters. Then they do this to me. I pulled C2 Lyney in only 65 wishes somehow by the grace of hoyoverse, then pulled for his weapon banner and somehow got blessed with his bow in like 25 wishes, after having just gotten the speedy catalyst that was for Klee mono pyro only a couple banners ago.

Was sitting at around 70 pity with no guarantee. First 10 pull got me Lyney. Decided to do 3 more 10 pulls for Lynette cons, and Lyney showed up again on 3rd 10 pull. Guess I better burn the midnight oil in Fontaine to get him geared and ascended!!

I made my decision on making lavawalker lyneys permanent artifacts because it's honestly the best choice and also been struggling getting good reminiscences pieces

I wish Lynette was better designed to work with Lyney because she only works /fine/ just based on her burst mechanics alone, but her other aspects like her cons focusing on her own damage, no support buffs and her party ATK increase passive being wasted on a mono pyro team since it relies on elemental variety hold her back and make her replaceable. I was really hoping I could play them in a team and I sometimes get tempted to just for the aesthetics, but I have a Kazuha already so 😭
