I loved this quest, especially all the dialogue with lyney and lynette. AND THEN THE CUTSCENE AHHHHH *chefs kiss*

To be fair…for those asking about Freminet and saying he’s being pushed aside, Lyney and Lynette are actual siblings, that’s why he says that she is the truest form of truth he knows, Freminet is more so their adopted brother they’ve been close to, doesn’t mean they don’t care for him

I really like how Lyney and Lynette kinda did this whole thing in a “Fatui” way. Like they didn’t do it by finding evidence and giving her to the Justice system (not saying the system flawed or anything), but made her suffer from her actions. It’s just so much more satisfying than simply catching the real culprit.

It took only 10 days of kindness for people to perfect his craft for 10 years for revenge...

I think the saddest part about Cesar and the twins is that they are used to people betraying them and to not trust anyone but each other. Cesar was one of the only people who actually cared about them and never lied to them, the twins really treasured Cesar even if they only knew him for 10 days

I think the most tragic thing about Cesar is the fact that the criminals who orchestrated his death did not admit to their crimes against him because they felt guilty for what they have done to him, but because of their own selfish reasons. The reasons were selfless on the surface but selfish in their intent. Lorenzo only admitted to his crimes because he is in love with Jemma and wanted to cover for her and Jemma only admitted to hers because she reciprocated Lorenzo's feelings for her and felt guilty for using him. Cesar deserves so much better.

Loved his story quest so much, Lyney quickly became my favorite character after it. Oh and not Lyney giving the traveler a rainbow rose after learning it’s a romantic gesture I jest but it was cute.

Lyney's story quest is one of the best for me 😢 the cutscene made me emotional, the rainbow rose at the end and also lynette's attitude 😂

His quest was pretty intriguing, especially the ending.

It was so sad that many people, including Lyney and Lynette, approached Cesar with ulterior motives. But they repay the debts they owe, and they delivered their thanks to Cesar along with his name being cleared up. This quest was beautiful.

As a Lyney lover that story quest hit on different levels. Like it was so bittersweet and the cut scene was incredible

The rainbow rose is not only a sign of passion but also romance as charlotte told us in the beginning. At the end, when Lynette told us to take good care of the flower, I like to think that she was talking about lyneys heart. As lyney basically really really likes traveler

This quest made me feel like love is dead. 10 years of fake grief is insane!

Despite the name, Rainbow Roses are essentially more akin to Lilies. It is said to represent passion and romantic encounters. 😊

I was concerned when we first received the lumidouce bell because of it's meaning, but combined with the rainbow rose, I realized it's a bouquet of the twins' ascension materials. It's basically like the Aranara flowers 😭

I love how much improvement Hoyoverse has made, I've gone from only liking a few characters because of their design to absolutely being in love with these characters. They're so well fleshed out, and I want to see more of them, seriously this patch just started and I already want to get to the next one 🤣

ahhhh I was hoping that someone in chat would point out to Jon that the flowers Lyney used during his tribute performance to Cesar were Lumidouce Bells, after he finds out earlier in the quest that they represent "partings" :' ) 💔 this was the most touching part of the final cutscene to me, it's such a sweet and sad detail.... Cesar was the dad they deserved 😭💔

1:26:21 I'm sure some of you already know about this but the name of this NPC is based on Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin, A French Magician whose also known as the Father of Modern Conjuring/Magic well fitting on Lyney's SQ. Funfact: Just like the twins & Cesar, Houdin seeked to be trained by a amateur magician

I love Lyney so much! This is also my favorite story quest in the game up to date! Its so beautiful and heartbreaking. I just realized after reading through both Lyney and lynnett profile story, vision story and voiceline that their past that we learn from the AQ and this SQ is just tip of an iceberg. I guess its to be expected from a child soldier raise to be a fatui agent. They both have gone through so so much painful and sad days. They live such dangerous life and its not an exaggeration to say that they hv gone through a near death experiences multiple time ald. Its very evident that they can only endured those painful day because they have each other. You can see it in how they both got their vision…. Its just so heart wrenching (and heartwarming)😢 Behind Lyney flirty and cheerful attitude lies an always anxious and untrusting heart. He seems to always believe that as long as he continue on this path (which he couldnt turn back on nor does he intend to) he will end up all alone and finally fall of the steep cliff of lies he build himself. The only person who could comfort and help him somehow is lynette… otherwise he would have fell off a long time ago. So its really miraculous that Lyney seems to like the traveler. Wanting to be liked by him and wanting to be trusted by him. I think Lynette knows how rare it is for Lyney to want to open up to someone so she spoke up to us to take care of Lyney’s flower well cuz she want her brother to be happy. I just hope that in future AQ… the traveller would reciprocate Lyney’s feeling or my heart wouldnt be able to take it 😢. I cant bear to see Lyney being heartbroken again. Such precious boi deserves all happiness in the world. Please let them be happy hyv i beg u. Just Imagining if he were to grow up normally… he would hv just been a cheerful and happy boi and that makes my heart hurt.

I'm definitely spoiling myself here cuz I just started this quest today too! 😂 Can't pass up the chance to watch The Chongyun Main play thru it tho. Also neat to hear the English VAs, cuz I have mine in Japanese lmao Edmondo's voice acting in that scene is everything 😂😂 "and he wonders why he can't get a giiiirlfriiieend" 😂😂 Absolutely hilarious. He's a National Treasure.

If I had to guess why the story did not address the trust issues the traveler has with Lyney, I suspect that this is told out of order and this is meant to be after all of the Archon Quests are out where he and Lynette might’ve done something. I’m just speculating because it also made no sense for the Opera Epiclese to let them back in so soon after it was revealed they tried to snuck into the room witb the Oratrice’s core in the middle of their performance last time. It’s like how Cyno’s story quest was released in Act 3 of Sumeru… but it made no sense until after he was reinstated as the General Mahamatra in Act 5… otherwise he would be working for the Akademiya at the same time when both the traveler and Cyno were wanted by the Sages… The alternative is that they just won’t address the issue and we’re buddy-buddies despite how things ended up. And stories told out of order is not exactly unfound though exceedingly rare. A big example is how you get Rosaria’s full introduction in Albedo’s Story Quest… except that doesn’t unlock until AR40 while you only need ~AR30 for the 2nd Dainsleif Quest where you run into her like you already know her… and the lines do not change if you do Albedo’s quest after.

It somehow got darker and darker in his and his sister profile stories/vision story/voiceline.

XD That's why tho I get some are joking, those who were serious about wanting to execute Jemma in the chat had me worried because they're just encouraging Lyney and Lynette to BECOME like Jemma and Lorenzo. Spreading the suffering you have felt unto others just causes a chain of hatred and a loop of revenge. (Thats why it's so much better to spread kindness.) Causing pain unto others for personal vengeance rather than to right the wrongs through meaningful justice. Being hateful is not the way to go in return. Rightful payback is sweet at times, but to copy your enemy just makes you out to be nothing more than what you despised the most. Thankfully, Lyney and Lynette knew better than that and would not become furious murderers themselves. So proud of these two who are far more mature than the adults who have wronged them. 😊

Yo fr, for a big Chinese-made game, that rainbow rose is as overt as it gets. Props to Hoyo, using Fontaine to push all their boundaries! Lumine is my true traveller, but I think because Aether is literally a golden retriever sunbeam, the embodiment of everything Lyney was appreciating at the end of the quest, it do hit different when it's him

I really enjoyed the story throughout, but didn't find myself to the point of actually sobbing even after the beautiful cutscene (I was more so feeling touched). BUT then the conversation with Lyney happened, and I just broke down, lmao. That was so beautifully done.

this quest is really good, I love Lyney even more after this. a story quest should be done like this. some story quest is just a npc story quest, it speaks notthing about the character.

It’s not going to address the tension with Lyney because character quests are (usually, with some exception) meant to be played in any order. It wouldn’t make sense for some players to have this tension if they do Lyney’s character quest before the second half of the first Archon Quest. In other words, it would serve as a major spoiler. Better to leave them entirely separate. They will likely address the tension or the relationship in a future Archon Quest.

Completly agree with story quests and missing actually giving us the heart of the character. But the only one I remember is Yelan's since it missed her whole past and the point they teased in the chasm quest about sacrifice. But who else?

Tho I love most of the characters hangouts, I think this one made Lyney the main character that he is supposed to be and not just helping a random npc way. This is one of my favourite ❤️

We didn't really leave Lyney in a way that, the way you put it, "hate each other." We heard his story and we apologized but then made a disclaimer that we just can't completely trust them since we don't fully know Lyney and Lynette's characters. But despite that, we confirmed that we understood that we can try and find them again in the future. On this aspect, our relationship with Childe and with Lyney & Lynette aren't really different. Even though we get along with Childe, we're still wary of him because of his Fatui background. The Traveler confirmed this by taking Childe's existence in Fontaine into consideration when we were being suspicious of Lyney after Furina revealed that the magicians were Fatui. We get along, yes, on personal basis. But we are still wary of you on your Fatui background.
