Between two Fjords rises a rough mountain chain in the far north of Norway: the Lyngen Alps. Join our troubled journey to this little mountain paradise - including a broken motorcycle, a swollen foot and a hospital visit.
We left Senja island - but not before enjoying it's beautiful landscape inlands - and started the day off with a Highlight: Having cake for breakfast in the town Finnsnes. Our inital plan was to go to
Tromsø but on the way we decided to skip the city and pick another way: Rout 91 that leads from Fagernes to two ferries that carried us over Ullsfjorden and Lyngenfjord. The scenery of the Lyngen Alps was beautiful - but we had to deal with two other incidents: My foot was terribly swollen from the insects bites and the Ducati if my travel partner started to leak oil.
Watch this episode to find out how we dealt with the motorcycle and why I ended up visiting a hospital.

Just when I thought it couldn't get more beautiful, there is more!!!!!! Breathtakingly BEAUTIFUL! Thank you for sharing. And yes, I am still binge watching your videos. That is all I think I about and as soon as I open my eyes in the morning. Thank you so much for sharing. I worked with some Germans from Meppen and they all were so very nice and funny. I bought 5 books and one computer program to try to learn German, but my accent and tongue wouldn't cooperate with the language. LOL! Thank goodness I was able to learn the German phrase for poisonous snake. We have a lot of Sidewinders and Rattlesnakes in our area and I wanted them to be aware of where they hide during the day and what they look and sound like. I was teaching them what to look for and one of the Germans that spoke and understood English very well would translate to German, so they all learned. I'll never forget a few of them came to my apartment to check out the computer program I bought to learn German. I would speak the German words and phrases into the microphone and it would tell me if I was pronouncing them correctly or not. They laughed when it said I pronounced the words correctly and told me it was wrong. So one of them spoke German into the microphone and it said it was incorrect. We all had a good laugh that it was such a bad program that it would tell a German he was not speaking German correctly. So I learned to never trust all computer programs. LOL!!! Dawn.... A book aged by time and use, rests on a cast iron table... Page by page, image by image, illustration by illustration, two figures come to life... One extremely discrete the other sometimes wears a red vest. They are the legend, the narrative of a stunning journey. Chapter by chapter, Senja a Lyngen Fjord.... The sun is already hiding from the green and white-speckle robes of granite elevations... The book closes to the sound of the waves and does not allow you to read the next episode,... The North Cap!....

Yes I think I only realized myself how beautiful it was when I cut the video - somehow my foot and the hospital visit and the leaking ducati kept me pretty busy that day. So I was very happy that I could visit the area again with the videos and without a swollen foot! 😂

Lea, I hope you have fully recovered from the fly bites as well as the tic bites in the US, and that your friend from the Africa trip has recovered from his ankle injury. Here in New Foundland, Canada we have Lingon Berries, the name of which comes from Swedish. We also have a Viking settlement there. This has been such a remarkably beautiful trip through Norway. Amazing scenery and camera work. Living vicariously and recalling our trip though Switzerland etc a couple of years ago.( on a BMW 1200GS). Just downloaded and enjoyed your book too! Cool to see your choice of a Tiger which I had until I swapped it for a Tenere 700. ;-) As an old bugger I was particularly taken with your Dad owning a Z900 ( one of my first bikes back in the 70's) .

Get well soon both of you ! For the swollen foot , mix Turmeric Powder and Salt with some clean water to make a thick paste , and put over night on the swollen area. wrap a clean cloth around it .

As an avid tourer (Africa Twin) I couldn't believe it when you pulled up at the Lyngen Lodge. My wife and I stayed there for 5 nights. Wonderful scenery. You were right not to go via Tromso.
