@@HaXaW5150 I’m so very sorry. I have struggled so many times to find the right words to say and I just can’t find any. I pray God will bring you and the families peace and comfort. When you love someone so much that peace doesn’t come easily. I’m still trying to cope with the loss of a loved one that left a little over a year ago. Without going into the whole story I’ll just say after my son and I flew home to his house I sat outside by his pond sobbing and praying for hours for understanding. God gave me that understanding on the 3rd day. When I was able to drive home again I sat outside on my small patio and always sobbing and praying. I needed peace in my heart. Again in the 3rd day I suddenly felt a warmth cover me that I’ve never felt before. I then felt myself being wrapped up in pure love. I couldn’t move my arms. I was being held tightly and again God granted me peace. God is real and he’s such a loving God. I still cry. A lot. There are 4 special people that I have lost. Life is hard. I had decided I wasn’t going to get out of bed today. It’s just one of those days. But I did and now I see these messages. God bless you.

@@robinlanier6886 Thank you. I’m not sure of who actually wrote that but it’s true for all of us. It is for me. Sometimes the grief is unbearable. I also know that God is always there and He will give me refuge. Even still losing someone you love is the hardest thing I have ever experienced in my life. That pain doesn’t go away but God sees me thru. God bless you.

Gary was a cool guy. He always spoke in a humble way about the band. He had the patience to tell the same stories over and over about Hell House and how all the songs were written. I wonder how many times he got asked the same questions but in every interview he was excited to tell those stories over and over. He was a great musician and a great man.

They could evolve into a revival band that showcases their musical talents and praises God more than the hoochie mamas they have met on the road. I'm not saying become a gospel band. Think about when Dale sang " One Good Man" it was beautiful and the music was Skynyrd music [in the Rossington Collins Band].

I think the best they can do now is go out not as Lynyrd Skynyrd, but maybe as "The Official Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Band" which would honor the guys who have passed, and would separate them from all the other tribute bands. What do you folks think of this idea?

I was planning a benefit for the Hopi Indian tribes out west having issues and I wanted to help. I asked you guys if you could possibly play but due to scheduling it wasn’t possible. You were very kind to me and didn’t treat me like a kid. You treated me with respect and always acknowledged my presence in the audience. I never forgot your kindness. You made a lasting impression on me, I’ve always thought of you as a friend. Thank you....Blue💙

It was so honorable the way Gary included you as one of the original band members before he died. I really thought that was classy and he’s right, it’s not always just those that were on the band when the first album came out. Other musicians contributed before and after, and you probably contributed the most. I love the camaraderie and brotherhood amongst the southern rock bands from the 70s and really 60s. It needs to stop. Please don't become an embarrassing tribute band like Hatchet and Blackfoot. All the original members are gone .The music will always be there. There are a million bands in the USA who play Skynrd good and none of them have an original member of skynrd so they are all the same , tribute bands. Johnny can play J.VanZant Band music with some skynrd just like in the old days and Ricky can go back to Blackfoot and make that tribute band legitimate again but don't play shows with Lynyrd Skynrd on the marquee because that is a straight up lie.RESPECT the FOUNDERS not your own wallet. They are all dead.Who will sing when Johnny is gone . I'm sure who ever collects the money will find someone. What a travesty. Don't let that happen.Have some respect for dead people.

Rickey Medlocke has been an interesting member of Lynyrd Skynyrd right from the start. That Muscle Shoals album from 1970 - he is all over it, playing drums, guitars, mandolins, and singing lead and backing vocals - not to mention songwriting. So really I look at Rickey as the oldest surviving member of the original band now... his tenure with Skynyrd has been an interesting one - and of course there was also Blackfoot. RIP Gary Rossington... Skynyrd never would have happened without Gary - but Rickey was a lot closer to the point of origin than some fans realize - though that original Muscle Shoals Lynyrd Skynyrd album speaks for itself. If Skynyrd survives the death of Gary, then Rickey should wear the crown.

As a Floridian & musician. Lynyrd Skynyrd coming from Jacksonville well, we were into them since knee high to a grasshopper. So many great memories listening and playing their songs. One time when I was around 22. My guitarist invited me to go see a band. We load up and ride to the show. We get there and having a drink and chatting. My buddy said hey come on, I want you to meet someone. Took me around the venue and I was like I don't think we should be here and right about that time a tall slim long hair comes up to my buddy and says hello, how's the family etc. Apparently he knew my buddies dad or knew of him. Introduces me and we have a nice 5 or.10 minute chat. Nice guy say our goodbyes. He was a cool dude I told my buddy. Later on that night the main act comes out. And there is my buddie's friend on stage. Making faces at us and just killing it on guitar. That band was Blackfoot. To Ricky ...my buddy was the best friend I ever had and musical brother. He passed away in a car wreck in 1995. I feel your pain. I hope you find peace. It's not easy losing a brother. All my best...one day I hope we all meet again!!

1977 seems like yesterday sometimes. But i know it was long ago. One day your young. Seems the next day your old. And we wonder where the hell all that time went. R.I.P Gary. Your legend lives on.

We miss them all, Ricky. I've been living here at ground zero here in Peter's creek ,Florida adjacent to the hellhouse property for the last 35 years. I also play guitar and cover your music and keep the mojo alive and flowing through the spanish moss covered oaks and tall pines down here in GCS. Y'all are legendary. thanks

Ricky I feel you . To bad you can't throw down on Highway Song On And On. I remember October 20th of 77 and the pain we all felt then. The day the music died. We're feeling that pain all over again Ricky.
