As an amateur bass player I must say this is a very tricky song, because you can play it wrong for many years as I have and the crowd will never know it, as is the case here. But this version will pass in most places I've played.

Sorry, you're a bit off. Firstly, the "ghost "or "grace" notes are A, E, E. In the 4th measure of the verses it goes from the A to the B note, not the C. The turn-arounds are completely wrong...there are tabs that are more accurate all over youtube. I'm sure you'd have no trouble playing the parts correctly once you know what they are. I created a MIDI track for all the drums, bass and piano parts, including the solo, if anyone's interested. (It's pretty much note for note.) Also available in stereo audio files.

Thank you for the bassline. When you show the bass neck straight on like you sometimes do, not on an angle, it makes it easier to see the frets you are playing.

This is my favourite bass cover on You Tube for this song. You have a slow, precise, but vibrant style that i'd love to emulate. I'm having trouble barring with my fingers as the strings fall naturally in the soft part of my fingers depending on which finger and which string, but you make it look effortless. Keep on truckin' coz I'm loving it!

Yup! It's been a hell of a lot of fun playing bass and I've been lucky enough to play a few gigs and have a video on KZfaq. Been looking for a few guys to form a working band and play gigs on a regular basis but it's been slow going. The deaf thing kinda throws 'em off a bit, I think. But I shall persevere.

Григорий Александров I'm a Bass player and I can't stand long nails and I'm a female lol. On a serious note, I prefer very short finger nails and I do not use a pick as I have the need to feel the string. There's no right or wrong in using your fingers or pics. However I feel I get a warmer sound playing with my fingers. Playing with a pick you get a brighter sound. In the end it's a personal preference, so your son does not need to have long nails to play bass. I wish him all the best in his playing. Bass is a phenomenal 🎸 instrument

If you don't use a pick your nails on your picking hand need to be real short!!!!!! I started with a pick but moved to my fingers as it's more of a bass sound than with a pick. Was a guitarist.

G-A-B-G (octave)-E-A-B-C-D. Using the G major scale starting with your second finger with the open A string is easiest. That little riff is the repeated guitar hook that really flavors the whole the song.

Good job as usual. I very much enjoy your posts and they are very helpful to a fellow bass player. I hate to say it but you're not quite there with Leon's feel on this one.
