Keala Joan Sett (born November 5, 1975) is an American actress and singer.
Kila made her Broadway debut with Shirley in 2011 in the Desert Queen Priscilla.
Keala began her role as Norma Valverde in 2013's Hands on a Hardbody performance on Broadway, and was nominated for the Outer Critics Award, the Drama Desk Award, and the Tony Award for Best Female Actress.
In 2017, she played the bearded woman Letty Rutz in the musical film The Great Showman. The film's "This Is Me," mostly sung by Settle, won the 2018 Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Sette began the role of Norma Valverde in the 2013 musical Hands on a Hardbody, which was briefly shown on Broadway, based on a 1997 documentary about real people competing for new trucks.
The Theater Mania reviewer wrote:
"Settlet steals every scene she comes out like Norma. The remarkably bizarre protagonist of her great number, "The Lord's Joy," is more difficult to digest than most Shakespeare monologues, and her solo vocals reveal the great range of the soul driving the Holy Spirit straight to the back of the theater. The moment she realizes tearfully what the consequences of her faith in God have been, it stings terribly. Setle's impressive performance will be nominated for all Best Actress in town."
For this role, Sett won Best Actress in Musical at the Outer Critics Circle, Drama Desk, and Tony Awards.
In addition, she won the Theater World Award for her outstanding Broadway or off-Broadway debut during the 2012-13 theater season.
She played the role of Mrs. Tenardie in the revival of Les Miserables, and Becky in the musical "Waitless" which opened on Broadway on April 24, 2016, after her premiere at the American repertoire theater in August 2015.
