In this video, I will be installing the Lytmi Fantasy 3 TV Backlight Kit and sharing my first thoughts on it.

The Lytmi Fantasy 3 is a new TV backlight kit that uses HDMI 2.1 to sync the lights to your TV's content. It has a number of features that make it a great option for gamers and movie lovers, including:
Support for 8K@60Hz and 4K@120Hz
72 LEDs per meter for brighter and more vibrant colors
Smart lighting algorithm that accurately syncs the lights to your TV's content
Full corners mapping capacity for a more immersive viewing experience

Hey Harvey, Thanks for making this video I'm defientely going to purchase this as a treat for myself in the near future especially when I upgrade 2 TV's in my household and this light set will first go into the family room for sure. I see people are calling this the Phillips Hue Sync Killer based on reviews. 1. What kind of shoes are you weareing looks like maybe New balance or some crocs looks really comfortable? 2. What size TV did you do this setup on at least 65 inch or more? 3. Can you do a part 2 update when you get some downtime from everything? :D Thanks

I didn't think this was HDR compatible. That may be correct because for example when you had the zebra on the screen, the light was blue

Hi Harvey, with connecting to Sonos to the TV, were you able to successfully use Sonos sound bar with Lytmi while playing games and watching TV?

Hi Christina...yeah as long as you plug the Sonos directly to one of your TV's HDMI ports and then the Lytmi in a different HDMI port, the sound then works when playing games or watching TV seamlessly.

Hello good day and thanks for the useful video, does this kit works well with movies on flash drives on tv usb ports ? I mean can the light syncs while watching movies over usb drive through my tv usb port? Or should I use my PS5 for example to act as bridge for viewing movies on my flash drive? Please advise thanks

Hi, it connect to your TV or monitor so it becomes an extension of the tv as an HDMI extension and then you connect the ps5 to it. So it should work. But make sure to check the manual and the information before purchasing. The manufacturer is good at answering questions as well before purchasing.

The Sonos sound bar, is E-arc compatible, can you tell a difference in sound using in comparison when the sync box isn’t connected as far as sound goes

Hey Baja. My sonos keeps being connected directly to the TV instead of connecting it to the sync box. I haven’t tried connecting to the sync box. The way I use it since Sonos only uses hdmi for audio there’s no need for visual elements to come through. I hope that makes sense and helps.

@@harveynewman thanks flor the reply amigo, that’s what I figured I suppose the out-hdmi from the out- hdmi could go to arc or game I guess and not connect the Sonos hdmi to the sync box cause the box doesn’t process Dolby. Sonos would be connected to e-arc input directly to the tv as you stated up in the comment. Thanks bud

Hi Harvey, I have a smart TV with built-in apps. Does this work fine with smart TVs having built-in apps? I saw many Sync devices need HDMI inputs from Firestick, Chromecast, Xbox etc. Thanks for making this great video though.

Hey mate, for the built-in apps, you're only going to be able to have LED lights with the Phillips one using the app on Samsung Tv's ONLY. You need a Phillips Bridge for that one to work, so the money gets up there in cost. If you can run your built-in apps off of a PS5, it works fine.

How flexible is the light strip. I have a 42 inch tv but that size is not available for this light strip. However I saw a trick online where people were able to fit the larger strip on the tv by bending the strip in an alternating patter so that only parts of the strip are stuck into the tv edges. So the strip is made to fit onto the smaller TVs by being stuck in a sine wave like patter. I want to know the flexibility to see if I can bend the strip in alternating intervals

Is quite flexible, but I think you'll have to try it at your own risk as these things can only flex so much. It has a specific type of cable at the 45 degree angle to make sure the lights are not too forced in to bending. Hope that helps.

For the xbox problem I think it's the VRR. I don't think lytmi supports it. Also I have the govee lights less accurate but alot brighter. Does the lytmi get brighter than what you had in the video?

I have my Fantasy 3 connected to QN95AA 75 Samsung TV, Apple TV 4K & eARC connected ARC, when connecting Apple TV 4K HDMI to Fantasy 3 & watching Apple TV subscription movies audio cuts out every few seconds, when watching Netflix or KZfaq with the same connection audio does not cut out. Audio also does not cut out when connecting Apple TV 4K HDMI directly to TV, bypassing the Fantasy 3. I have tried several different HDMI cables & switching Apple TV immersive audio settings on/off with no success. Any ideas as to what-else I could try or is the issue either a limitation of the product or known issue?

I read that it doesn't support CEC. Does this affect your setup at all? Can you still use the Apple TV remove to control volume and turn your TV on and off?

Hey Dennis...so it doesn't everything works including turning TV on and off and volume. No changes...which is great and I was also surprised.

Had the same black screen problem, the Lytmi doesn’t support VRR or low latency, so turning those off fixed it , then on the PS5 having game mode on the tv also didn’t work for me

Hey does the sync box come with a remote for switching hdmi? Or is it just the buttoning device?

Hey Michael...it's just the button on the device. But at least on my TV the switch is automatic and it auto-detects when the device is switched on and switches to it automatically. I haven't had to press the button once so far.

@@harveynewman I looked into it more the app let’s you select device and you can change with google and Alexa, also if helps a lot of people find game mode for lighting the best :)

Ah nice one, is a great piece of kit! Mine is still going strong and after a while you don't notice it, but once you remove it you absolutely notice that something massive is missing. Enjoy!

I have this lytmi fantasy 3 connected to my ps5, the issue is am using usb stick to watch movies and I know the ps5 supports codec 264 hd movies only not the 265, so when I play a movie codec 264 it only displays the video but no sound, I have checked the sound settings on ps5 it’s working fine everywhere else on the playstation works but the movie a issue with sound, any idea please? My TV is 4k@60 hz Samsung and am using the lytmi cable 8k so you think cable problem?

My country operates on 240V supply voltage and 50Hz, can this works without issues?

Might be worth checking the specs to double check. It should be on their website. If not you can email them, they are quite responsive.

Do your lights turn green when the screen goes to black or turn off? Mines don't seem to ever turn off. The blacks are green. Even if the screen is completely black, they all turn green instead of turning off. Every other color seems to sync up perfectly.

They turn off when the TV is off even if only temporarily like watching a movie. My tv is an OLED not sure if that has to do it. I’ll try and hard reset the box and if that doesn’t help contact the company as it might be a faulty unity.

@Harvey Newman yea that seemed weird to me but wasn't sure if it was by design or not. You just confirmed for me that my initial suspicions were correct. I've hard reset it a few times to no avail. Thanks for the reply!

Is it only me that this shocks? this Lytmi F3 in HDR the red is orange, the yellow is fluorescent, the white in the dark is blue... for my part I find that HDR is bad in color management.... personally I made a return Amazon I don't pay to have saturated or truncated colors.

Yes they do...they provide all that is needed to do the installation behind the tv and there's a few spares as well.

I recently purchased this product and have installed it today. Everything works except my PS5. I can't get a picture or signal to the TV passing through the box. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Is there a setting I have to change on the PS5 for it to work correctly?

@MANNY111386 Issue all fixed! It was due to owning a Samsung TV. For those with the same problem, the TV is the issue. First, you need to switch off game mode in the settings under the heading "Connection". Secondly, enable the HDMI input signal plus in the TV settings. Again go to Connection > External device manager > Input signal plus > choose the TV HDMI port. My PS5 now works perfectly with my TV.

I try the fantasy 3 and for me à big deal is the hdmi switch only work with device when they are completely off, when your device in in stand y mode the switch of the hdmi won't work and for me it's really à big deal cause 2 of my 4 device are on stanby so i need to manually switch the hdmi with the app..... Moreover if you want to control this led to light your room you can't create scenes, the lytmi app won't have this possibility and the smartlife app won't control many aspect of fantasy 3 (like brightness). Google assistant have the same problem, not possible to switch between the device and control brightness..... For me it's really à deal breaker cause the ambilight is really nice, but i actually prefere the Philips hue sync box with ambilight less à urate and more possibility to auto control than this fantasy 3 with some forgoten aspects.....

Hey Jeff, so for me all of my devices are auto detected, included the Apple TV, PS5, Xbox and Switch and they are all in standby mode all the time.

@@harveynewman I'm prety sure that ps5 and Apple tv have stand by mode (don't know other). It detect the device but does it auto switch to the device you turn on automatically or do you need to switch to the device with your app on your phone ?? Cause to me shield tv and my operator box must be switch with the app, it can't auto switch to one of this device when i woke up one of this.... So for exemple if I power on my shield tv when i see à tv programm on my operator box, the neo3 won't auto switch hdmi to the shield tv..... (I don't know xbox and I know the nintendo switch will be détected as an off device due to the dock....)
