(Copied that from wikipedia) There's been a lot of animosity/hate between the two countries since and the current Turkish government still doesn't fully acknowledge what happened, and denies it was genocide. This championship was held in Armenia hence the reaction of the crowd to the Turkish lifters.

For some administrative reason masters records are only recognized when achieved in masters specific meets. On the other hand jr records are recognized if performed in either Jr or sr meets. @@carpetgymolylifting I am not that well versed in these countries' histories, but I know they had border disputes and some other diplomatic conflicts due to Azerbajan in the 1990s, beside the issue with the Armenian genocide in the 1910s. I am sure these wounds may sting and all, but channeling all these discontents on a single junior lifter born in the 2000s is really out of place.
