Sometimes I really hate Judi Dench‘s version of M she’s so strict and always jumps to conclusions about everything when it comes to James not to mention she can be a real bitch. Not to mention for 14 months she left her best double oh agent to be tortured and rot in North Korea practically he was suffering a fate worse than death and what does she do absolutely nothing she doesn’t send any other agent to rescue him SO FUCK YOU M!!!!!!!😡 She’s as stone hearted, rude and disrespectful as much as Robert Brown’s version of M was like the way he was in license to kill they both treat James Bond like he’s their own machine more than a human. Let me clue them in about a fact of life you don’t own anyone just because you’re their boss nobody owns anybody in any fucking way and that means you don’t treat them with any kind of disrespect or ignorance like the way both of them do to 007. Here’s the fact about James unlike any double 00 agent in MI6 he follows his heart not logic which is something they are supposed to be following to logic doesn’t solve problems following your heart does.

Bond's encounters with M in Die Another Day represent what the film could have been; an exploration of the brutal, unforgiving environment a secret agent. Almost everything outside of those encounters feels like an interminable music video or a video game cutscene.

The hate for Brosnan's Bond in recent years staggers me. Yes, Craig was a great Bond. I loved Craig's performance. But Brosnan was great too, in a different way. He was perfect for making Bond fun and relevant in the mid 90's/early 2000's when the viability of the Bond character was absolutely in question due to the end of the Cold War. Without Brosnan, the character may not have survived. I see Brosnan as Connery and Craig as the Moore of the new millennium. I'd 100% be ok with Brosnan coming back for a one-off where we see what would have happened if his Bond had stayed with MI6 and how an older Bond would have fit in. Would he have become an administrator? Would he be kept in a training role? I don't know. We saw Craig's Bond do retirement so now we could see the other side of the coin if Bond had stayed. Just an idea. It's not like returning for a one-off hasn't been done before. Perhaps Boris finally comes out of his cryo-stasis and tries to help Putin take over the world lolz

I swear, I think the dialogue here was taken from alternate draft of Die Another Day when it was conceived as a far darker film than what we got.
@anthonylewis20807 жыл бұрын
Die Another Day has faults here and there : however, the "underground" scene isn't one of them. Despite 007's usual 'healthy disrespect' for authority, himself and M are strong allies - Judi Dench certainly makes the perfect choice to play the (fictional) MI6 Commanding Officer.
@oliverb63136 жыл бұрын
it certainly does have a fault. a huge glaring one. no MI6 officer would refer to himself as an "agent". agents are spies who are recruited by MI6 operatives. they are not the employees of MI6 itself. this isn't the CIA. half-arsed, lazy, bullshit writing - sadly that's all the brosnan era will ever be remembered for. goldeneye excepted.

The whole first half of this movie was really good(except for Madonna's awful song). It had build up for a very dark storyline with some good action scenes, but the whole second half of the movie falls flat once we get to the ice palace. From that point on, it's like the the second half was written and directed by a completely different person since it feels like the entire North Korea plot at the beginning never happened
