it really depends on your room but id recommend the 8 inch for producing, or get a subwoofer to go with the 5's, just so you can hear the low end more clearly. just got me some a couple days ago and they do not disappoint. By the look of your desk they would fit easily

I have these babies and I use them for mixing my dj sets and they are brilliant. I paid £170 for a pair which was a steal I think.
