This is the first video I post from the 2022 season. This is not the first event of the year; I've actually been riding events since February. This is the first 2022 event, however, where I was able to get footage of good enough quality to post.
I am still getting used to the new suspension on the bike. I feel a big difference but I have had to adjust my approach just a little bit. I am working on using less front brake and depending more on engine braking to do most of the slowing. I am also slightly heavier on the rear brake during The Magic Moment. I feel like I need to work on using the front brake less overall but I need to use it more in the moment just before The Magic Moment but this would only apply to relatively tighter turns such as when entering full rotation turns. I am really understanding that it's not just about how much pressure to apply on the brakes but also the exact timing of the application that is equally important. On the tech side of things, I think the springs that I currently have installed might be a little too firm but it's good enough for now. I might re-spring with slightly softer springs in a few months if the budget allows.
This is round #3 with my fastest time of 1.09.2. That was good enough for first place. I also beat out James Bush who had a time of 1.13.3. We had a pretty good turn out. About 5 riders including myself. It is always good to have more riders at the events. More people = more fun. Big thanks to M-Gymkhana for another great event and thanks to all the riders who showed up and made it a great day!
