Passing driving test in the US was really a piece of cake... The strict test in China is for complexity of driving on road. You need higher skills and awareness driving in China. That's why I always say whenever I go back China and drive, it's a reinforcement on my driving skills, to keep me sharp everywhere.
Is the opposite story for me I passed every Chinese test on first try, but then I failed three times in the US on road test, every test has to be at leat 2 (or3?) weeks in between. The driving hobbie is completely different. I would believe many Chinese old driver would fail as well.

@@shad0w1and During your test in making a turn right or left, you forgot to impress the examiner by turning your neck & head all the way!
the instructor is quite nice to you. when i was having my driving course, if i drove too fast, he always said "speed up and then you can join F1 league". :(

in the US, every state has its own driving test. For instance in Virginia, the hardest part is that you must get 10 out of 10 on identifying the signs. Think if you got a sign that you didn't study too deeply, and then you failed immediately.

Exactly, I hate the Virginia driving written test!

Kentucky has a different 3 point turn rule than other states, I failed on the first try, because I was turning left, reverse, and turning left again, which is normal elsewhere. But in KY you have to reverse to the right first, than turn left😅
this is so cool. Glad i've driven manual car before.

In China, you can choose to get an automatic driver's license. But an automatic driver's license does not allow you to drive a manual car, while a manual car license allows you to drive an automatic car

I learned my driving in a standard shift. I practiced my driving to be aware where my car’s wheels are. i.e. drive left or right wheel on line at empty parking lot, stop, and check for accuracy. I might be able to pass the road test. PS, I drove in a mountain region before. Try to start manual shift up a slope at stop sign, you will really learn.

Congratulation !!! Take care when you drive on the road.
The license test WAS very simple before the grader switched from human to machine several years ago... It's might just be the differences between human&machine. Learners really need a lot of work to remember all the exact "critical point" to avoid point deduction. But if they can remember all the things clearly, it's very easy to pass all of them. For myself, I passed the test in China without a single retake and drove for more than 2yrs. But got failed at the first time in US... They're just very different, not exactly difficult.
Similar to US, in Aus, road test must be passed to get driving licence. You will have long hours driving on actual road before getting the licence, which allow you know more about the actual road conditions, and there are provisional licences in Aus (Red P and Green P), young drivers have to get them for a few years before getting the full licence. I passed my driving test in China 10 yrs ago, but I did not have enough on-road driving hour before the road test back then, since I was asked to excercise in the test site. There were quite a few candidates that cannot drive as well as in test site, cuz there were no other road users in the site. Thats pretty much what I feel the difference about driving test in China and Australia.
