Tranquerah Road have a beautiful and busy history. If someone can capture it between 1957 to 1990. It can be consider as one of the busiest in Malacca. There are many shops selling daily use items such as rice, suger, salt, and many daily needed items. There is also a very busy Tranquerah Market. Every morning, which sells all types of vegetables, fishes, meat and even kueh kueh etc. Outside the market, alone Tranquerah Road, there is a row of hawkers (more than 10, 3 wheels tricycle selling wan tan mee, chee chong fan, chai tow kueh, pure sugar cane juice, mee chiang kueh, (popular kow chek) cha kueh tiow, duck noodles, yu cha kueh and few more. Business usually starts from 7am till 11am. The food were of real great authentic taste. Really miss it. Some of them are already 2nd generation hawkers. There are many schools along Tranquerah Road too. Anglo Chinese Primary and Secondary School. Methodist Girl's School, Tranquerah English School, Chong Kwok Middle School and 2 more private Schools. There is also a graveyard belong to a Muslim Philippines Scholar which is still very well maintained at Lorong Datok Manila. There is a small celebration once a year (guess it to celebrate the birthday). During the 70s, they usually have a grand celebration, lots of cooking, lots of prayers and many children will gather around to share a big plate of rice with vegetables (brass plate about 70mm diameter share with 5 children). Now only a few more old house still standing. The rest have been upgraded or demolise and rebuild. Hope to know and see more history of Tranquerah Road. Keep it up 👍👍👍👍👍. If you are into Nyonya food, there's an unpretentious Baba Low stall which is situated behind their house . Their stall is located beside the lane and beside the Tranquerah Mosgue. The lane leads into Kampung Lapan. They serve laksa, top hat (kueh pai-tik), mee siam, popiah and nyonya cendol. Just behind Baba Low is UncleCharlie's nyonya restaurant. If you like nyonya kuehs (cakes), across the lane that I have just described is a tiny lane leading to Uncle Charlie's nyonya cakes house. There's a small signboard just by the roadside to indicate the direction to his house which is about 50 metres away.
