I rented a 365 XL and a Shield Plus at the range a couple of days ago. I shot the 365 XL good, but the Shield Plus was amazingly accurate. I had thought about getting the Glock 45 as my next gun, but now have shifted to the Plus. New Subscriber.

I'm still a little low/left with the Shield but it does shoot well and so compact. Need to get used to the size. My Glock 45 is right on though.

Nicely done video. Just bought this gun today. Haven't had a chance to fire it yet, but it feels good in my hands, has a nice trigger, night sights, and of course, the optic cut. I bought a Ruger max-9 last year with the CT 1550 optic, so I'll be able to use it on the Smith as well. Really looking forward to going to the range and putting some rounds through it.

thanks for the vid, mines is at home waiting to be picked up from my local gun shop, bought the bug out bag rig, didn't come with a red dot so gonna have to get into that. I'm gonna check out tenicor for my holster, seems to be a very nice set up you got.

Great review. I had the original gen 1 and wanted the new holy crap package and got the ported 4” pc shield plus. It’s a tad long so I might grab that bundle for 499 that comes with the bag and extra mags for really Texas summer carry. Found your video looking for the new crimson trace upgrades and I think il be trying that green dot. And love my tenicore on the shadow xr920 holster I have as well

I bought this gun about a month after it came out, I tried to do some research on what kind of red dots I could use. I eventually just gave up and got the Crimson Trace 1550. That's what comes on the performance centers.

Thanks for your very clear review. Was wondering to get one as well and your review may have helped me make my mind up. I was worried about my pinky falling off but that mag extension solved that so you put my mind at ease.

I have the 1s,2nd, and 3rd. I have the popular micro ccw weapons and I definitely prefer the S&W. Nice work. The fact the holsters and tlr6 and most of the accessories fit each weapon.

Nice setup. Just curious as to why no light. With so many good small lights out there at reasonable prices if you are carrying the other items why not add one to your kit.

I thought mine was the only one with the grayish frame. All of the reviews of the plain Shields have that black cerokate finish whereas the optics ready seem to not feature it

Can’t decide on the red dot I want! Thought I really wanted a Shield SMSc but have been eyeballing this one and the Holosun. Only reason I don’t like this or the Shields are in a complete dark room the dot disappears! But then again I see why there’s night sights on it. How do you like this one ? Is this complete cowitness

Not complete co-witness and not a big fan. The dot does disappear when you would expect it to be there. Will be looking into other options.

I see you skipped past showing you loading up the 13 round lol. That’s my only complaint…the mags are stiff…getting that 13th round in is a challenge…love the gun though. Thanks!

It was tough at first. The mags get less stiff with time and I can load 13 no prob now.

Did you have any issues put on the RAD micro on? I can not get my RAD to seat flush, looks like the extractor pin is sticking up.

I have the same issue with trying to mount a Vector Frenzy-S. I gave up, but am going to look again to see if my extractor pin is sticking up. I read some reviews and if the extractor pin is sticking up, then there's a problem with the firearm that needs fixed.

I end up tapping it in place and have not had a problem. I have put a few hundred through it no issues besides not able to get 13 rds in the mag.

@@karlalger4970 I just finished checking my extractor pin under the optic plate and it was flush and not sticking up. It looks like my optic just doesn't have deep enough holes for the lugs to sit in and sit flush/flat to the slide. I guess I'll try to figure out what addon plate I need. Argh!

@@IAMRUSTEDROOT I had a similar issue from what it sounds like you are describing. Tighten the screws down even more. It took me a replacement site just to figure out that I just wasn't tightening it down enough it seemed tight but two extra turns and then the Red dot sat flush.

I don't like the Crimson Trace optic. Can't rely on Auto features. The pistol is great for concealment but too small for 'me' to shoot well. Just got the Compact 3.6.

I have the Crimson Trace Rad Micro Pro and it’s great and easily mounted. The Holosun 507 K is a good option too.

@@graygunn71 thanks for the review. Did the crimson trace rad drop right in without needing to make modifications to the slide? Someone posted a review on the CT website that they had to do some filing to make things fit.

Pretty sure the 507k will need a plate. Had a gen 1 shield but wanted the plus so went all out on the 4” performance ported. Not thrilled about the plastic CT model that comes on it but looking at reviews of this new pro green model.

No plate needed for this optic...fits the mounting footprint of the S&W Shield as-is. It's the Shield RMSc (Shield Sights, not S&W Shield) standard foot print that many new micro-9 OR guns come with.

Not a fan really. Too much auto adjustment. Sometimes the dot is just gone. Go Holosun.

@@graygunn71 Been a fan of the M&P line since the start and it has always kinda urked me they always seem to be a little behind everyone else in innovation. Just picked up a Shield Plus and am once again disappointed that I can't run a Holosun optic without an adapter plate. Which seems to be some kind of unicorn as I have only found two choices and one is out of stock and the other is $50. Come on S&W, at least the 2.0 compact optics cut came with an assortment of plates. Even though they were plastic.
