using an intel 2012 macbook pro in 2024 apart from the battery life everything works for me, upgraded ssd and ram works for me do light editing and magsafe charging is so fast and amazing.

the M1 is still an amazing laptop despite the age. The chip is quite fast. Software support is good. And its wedge design feels lite and premium. The price is reasonable too.

apple can run their os with limited hardware because they control both software and hardware. my 2015 Mac air with OCLP runs Sonoma smoothly and handles daily task without issues. m1 will keep getting official updates till 2028 and beyond.intel Macs could run windows with bootcamp natively and m1 Macs can run windows through parallels. m1 used to have swap memory issue but that has been patched.

Hi brother ...I noticed that Apple is still selling the M1 MacBook Air from 2020. It seems like a pretty good deal for less demanding users. However, when looking at the macOS support table on Wikipedia*, it does not look like the M1 will be able to install many more future macOS versions. For example, the 2017 MacBook Air supports macOS only up to 2021. That’s five years. If the same ends up being true for the M1, that means that it will stop supporting macOS versions in 2026. In other words, if you get an M1 for Christmas this year, you’ll get two more yearly macOS updates in 2024 and 2025, and that’s it. That seems pretty low, considering that the version of Safari is tied to the version of macOS. Is there any indication that the M1 will have a longer macOS support period? I feel like I don’t want to buy it unless it supports macOS at least until 2027 (five years from now).

watching on m1 air :) buy min 16gb ram macs. RAM gets exhausted and cpu usage is max 80%. 8gb ram will cause problems.

Eith Xelite I did not see performance per watt or efficiency. The lack of data suggests something may be less exciting . Of course, by having 12 performance cores, 50% more than the M3 chip it would be a shocker if the multicore score was not better! I do not think Apple is worried about this. Maybe Intel, but they have been worried for years due to their poor record of upgrades over the last 5-7 years. Then we have to understand these tests are done in perfect condition on reference devices with fans and large casing probably with max RAM and the fastest SSD. When we test with Macs with the same configs when in a retail unit running on Windows in real world tests maybe with non-ARM software, then the reality may not be as rosy.

Wo western KZfaqrs ki style copy kar rah, wahi pe bolte ki 60k me plastic laptop milte, in general plastic jyada use hota hai windows me but laptop ki build agar stable hai toh more than enough ho jata hai, hama kaha laptop ko 3rd floor se fenkna hai

Available tha but this m1 has been discontinued by Apple. You only have it available on eCommerce websites and resellers. 16 gb ram ya 512 gb storage option m2 main mil jaega. I have ordered an M2 air for myself for this reason only
