I have a MacBook Air with M1 chip. It's in Recovery Assistant Mode with the window Activate Mac. It needs to be activated. It says to select a WiFi network from the WiFi icon at the top right of the menu bar. But there is no WiFi icon there. There is a battery icon and a select input icon (to select alphabet.) And that's it. How do I get the WiFi menu to appear?

I fixed this.. just type your wifi name and security type and password and it will connect. My problem now is locating previous owner as it is asking me for original icloud

The only true way to remove activation lock is REPLACING the M1 chip, M1 ROM, Wifi chip and Fingerprint sensor, then connect to another mac to boot into DFU mode to download new firmware

Haha yeah basically though I wouldn't be shocked if Apple started iCloud locking actual parts to make them not work in other machines after the iCloud locked one. The TouchBar MacBook's are fine though. @@jl8109

i have a iMac 2021 M1 chip got it at a storage unit auction i won but it has activation lock with a user account is there any absolute way to remove or bypass this lock , maybe with time ?

I have a Macbook Air with m1 chip that I got at pawn shop. It lets me "erase" it but still come up to the Activation lock. It wants the apple ID and password to do anything else. Can you bypass that and if so how ?

You should be able to remove it in the Find My app, or using the iCloud website.

Umm, so i erased m1 macbook pro, and after reset, i cant activate because i dont know apple ID and password. How did you activate? thats the whole purpose of me watching this video. you reset, showed that there was apple ID link, then cut out, then it was somehow activated. the whole cut out part was what people i assume wanted to know

Activation lock has to be tied to an account. Try using the Find My app via your iphone or through the website. It will show a laptop or any device that is activation locked. If you don't know your apple id, it will be on one of your devices that are currently connected. The last resort is to show proof of purchase through the apple store/online to help recover the one used for the device
