I thought about getting this one but got the D1 instead. Mostly because it's a bit bigger and the only thing it lacks is the cutting tool but I felt I didn't need it since I have my cricut. LOVE IT ❤️

Thanks for the video. Unboxing mine this week. FYI, you can emergency stop laser cutters by lifting the lid which triggers the safety interlock. Prevents even more soot and material from getting on optics.

Fascinating! A dual machine like this kind of throws rocks at the simple cutting machines like my Silhouette. Thanks for the excellent show and tell. Showing the mistakes serves as alerts/warnings/reminders. Too bad there are not some built-in warnings. Seems like with all the different settings reminders would be needed.

OMG Kratrina....your mat! I have this machine for probably over 3 weeks but haven't used yet. I plan to this week. Well, I purchased for my daughter and she's suppose to teach me but we'll probably just learn it together. Thanks for sharing because I'll definitely be referring back to it. Tracey

Whatever you do just use the blade cut for the mat and you will be fine. Don’t laser through your mat like me. Lol. But you will love this machine.

Thank you for breaking everything down. I have been looking at these machines and can't decide which direction to go. I need it mainly for wine glass etching and like the cut feature, the idea of it being able to do intricate cuts on other materials. I can't decide if I should go big now or later. Cost vs features

Hi Katrina- since you have had your xtool for over a month, do you feel like you should have purchased the addl components such as the air assist, purifier, and riser? I’m on the fence right now.

so excited for you. I want to engrave because I've been metal stamping and I make more mistakes than I want to admit. Love the engraving possibilities my glowforge doesn't do that.

Is the air assist attachment a necessary addition to any or all of the machines? Does the machine you demonstrated include everything needed without having to purchase add-ons? I definitely did not intend on burning through my mat. Those mats are not cheap. Shoot. Just gonna use the rest of the mat for now though.

I like this for the most part. But I don't care for the price, lol. Definitely more affordable than the glowforage. that you need to have it in a space for ventilation. My current craft space does not have a window.

They have a portable vent that you can get in case you can’t have it near a window or a garage.

Scoring is more like writing. It’s not deep at all. The engraving goes deep. You can feel it on some materials.

I hope not it didn’t cut the machine but it lasered it for sure. Have to have the right material in when using that laser setting. It’s powerful

Hahaha I did the same thing with mine I was trying to engrave a peppa pig and then it burned the wood entirely and I used the score setting and now my machine has a peppa pig on it since I didn’t raise it

Bought this and it broke in 2 days solder joints weak poor craftsmanship. Company doesn’t honor warranty just gives you a runaround. Don’t buy this you will have nothing but headaches and a machine that doesn’t work. Try getting parts to fix it is impossible.

Not sure what happened to your machine, but it's definitely a great machine and I know over 10 people with it and no one has had an issue, Sometimes it's user error!
