M235i Cold Start, Pulls, and M240i Guest Appearance

The lovely sounds of my 2014 BMW M235i, with Fabspeed Sport Cat and M Performance Muffler! No tune at the moment. The cold start was in a carport so the sound is a little much, but it is still similarly loud in the fresh air. M240i is using JB4, map 7.

Gonna have to go with the 218i for now. Only 23 so hopefully will be able to look at a nice 235i/m2 in the future!

Bought a 2015 M235i xdrive with ZF8 transmission last Monday, same color too, absolutely a blast to drive. I needed a fun daily that's an auto, my other fun car is an 08 350z but has a heavy clutch, so now just going to use it for the track only.

Great cars. Love my M140i, currently running at 411bhp/576nm but going for further tuning next month.

Try hjs downpipe and the Sound is nearly perfekt maybe exhaust later on then it should be perfect

@@channasnakehead4051 Just after I posted that comment, I had a wagner 200 cell cat fitted, it's now 455bhp/634nm 🙂Had xHP3 flashed to the ZF8 too.

Forgot to say, I don't want a loud exhaust. I'm 53 yrs old, not a kid. Loud exhausts are for attention seeking children imo. I would rather have a car which looks standard, sounds discreet, yet is super quick.

In terms of reliability/maintenance how is the 235 treating you? I'm looking at a '14 m235 with 48k miles and am worried since it's out of warranty... but the price is almost too good to pass up on

They are very reliable cars... Have had mine a year and put 10k miles on it, up from 24k... Not a single issue... It's also out of warranty...

Yeah, I also haven't had any real issues with mine other than a faulty trunk release. I've had the car from 33k miles to 55k

I’ve had mine for 10 months. I’ve put almost 10k miles on it. It’s a 2016 M235i, MHD stage 2, VRSF charge pipe and down pipe, muffler deleted. Currently at 69k miles and the only problem is the oil pan gasket leaking. The exhaust sounds like it leaking too but that’s probably my fault from the exhaust work I’ve done and has nothing to do with the car itself. If you have the budget, go with the m240i instead of the m235i. There are a lot of reasons why I say this but I don’t feel like typing them out haha. Main thing to me is that the m240i has the B58 engine instead of the N55 which is in the m235i. The B58 is even more reliable than the N55 and can make even more power with the same mods. Hope this helps!

@@shanesmith1 Same problem. Faulty trunk (boot). Sometimes catches sometimes doesn't. Guess its a common problem.

Had mine 4 years only thing I've had was a faulty injector probably my fault using supermarket fuel a few times.

How close was the race and was the 240 stock?

240 was not stock, JB4! The race was very close until past 50-60mph where the 240 began to pull ahead

@@Vortexrc1993 Tune is generally a software modification that changes the engine firing or when turbo stops building boost to make more power. For most cars now, it is just increasing boost pressure. Seach "JB4 m235i"
