@@Scratchthejeepguy I should be able to make a short video of the jeep the next time I visit the owner. The vehicle has the factory fording equipment for the engine, ignition system, gearbox and so on, carefully checked and fixed where needed. The hose between the air cleaner and the carb was in bad condition, so it was replaced with some other type of hose. The fording kit with the tailpipe and the intake hose is an aftermarket kit

I was just the camera man, but I helped with the preparations and some of the work with the car. The main issue when driving in water like this is getting water in the axels, so an oil change in the axels afterwards is necessary to make sure that there is no water in them. The water will sit on top of the oil and then cause the internals of the axel to seize when the car is sitting. Apart from that it's the radiator that collects debris from the water and has to be cleared before driving off or the car will overheat due to insufficient cooling. But the original deep fording system in very capable and I was surprised with how well it worked in keeping water out. The jeep was taken to and from the site on a trailer

@@EarthAirWaterPetrol I agree with your story. I've driven trough rivers without preperation but surly in that case you gota keep the engine running due to the water pressure on the exaust. Also you better switch of electrics as the Dutch version has some production origial modifications that are far from water proof ! Also you should not forget to add a bolt under the main gear box to prevent water goin in there reaching the clutch mechanism, afterwards do not forget to remove it as the hole is required for ventilation. The M38A1 is verry capable but still i managed to get stuck twice in the snow ;)

It will keep running as long as the water dosent get into the intake tube or exhaust
